Shiki is good, it's been years since I watched it but I think the beginning was kind of slow, so keep at it for a few episodes if it doesn't initially catch your interest.
Higurashi no naku koro ni is also really good- it was originally a visual novel, and the VN is much much better than the anime, but is much longer and harder to get into.
