End of evangelion is a weird movie, I loved the ending of the tv series it really touched my heart and made me very happy.
Shinji got to be happy, he got to understand himself and everyone else , end of eva did not do that
Well I mean you could say that shinji got to understand everyone but he didn’t get to be happy
I don’t feel that end of eva did anything, it didn’t mean anything to me.
Not a lot even happened, misato and shinji had some development the Asuka fights the mass-produced evas and that’s one of the coolest thing to happen in the whole franchise but then everyone dies …
and there’s also a scene which just says “hey remember that girl, you know the one, the first one who was nice to you, the one you fell in love with because she was the only girl who actually talked to you, this is what she would have said if you ever worked up the NERV to tell her how you felt” … we’ve all been there, this scene properly hits real hard to the people that have had someone say things like this to them
Shinji pretty much didn’t do anything
But then I thought .. what if shinji was the one who triggered third impact maybe he’s emotions in the true form eva pause third impact to happen there is this scene where he's talking to ray as if he would want the world to just die but we can obviously see at the end that he is not satisfied with this conclusion, ray had already died in the tv series and then another clone replaced her but then in this movie she combines with lilith and I think it's the will of rei and shinji together which truly destroyed the world.
Shinji wished for this to happen but he didn't understand the extent of the destruction that would occur, race states that he has the power to rebuild the world, that's why lilith starts to fall apart because shinji wants to rebuild the world it's because shinji understood and accepted all of the pain that human beings bring to each other
So shinji rebuilt of the world ... evangelion rebuilds
I first got into evangelion from the rebuild films and I love them very much but this movie has given me an entirely new appreciation for them
Before I saw this movie I thought the whole all of evan galleon happens in one chronology thing was just a theory but but now that I've seen it it makes total sense and I can't think of the series any other way
I mean sure it is definitely possible to take the original tv series as its own thing and the rebuild movies as their own thing but in either of those chronologies you would not be including this movie I believe that this movie simply doesn't fit endocrinology where both the original series and the rebuilds happen
Everything is destroyed in end of eva then the world is rebuilt, history repeats itself and that being us to 1.11
we’ll just have to wait for 4.44 to get the True end of evangelion
ALSO the true chronology is that everything takes place in shinji’s head and the rom com AU from episode 26 is the REAL evangelion
Aside from all of that I think the true meaning of the end of evangelion is that there is no ending, the series will always go on in any remake, rebuild, movie, manga adaptation, alternate universe, or even just analysis videos right here on youtube, evangelion will never end.
this movie came out 20 years ago and people are still talking about it still analyzing it still recommending it along with the original series and other movies evangelion will be around forever and that means they will never be a true end of evangelion
