Am I the only one who misses all the classic and old animes? Nowadays there's so many different anime being produced of all genres, that some people don't even know the first animes being created. Like am I the only feeling this?

Like last week..
This girl asked me when I stared watching anime and I said "when I was a kid I watched Sailor Moon"
And she said, "What's that?"

Ok bruh.... u watch anime, call urself an otaku, yet u 'never heard' of Sailor Moon.

And plus, she didn't even know Death Note, Mirai Nikki, or Durarara

Does Big O count as a classic?

>>1

1.)Never call yourself an otaku. Otaku is a derogatory term for a person who is obsessed with something to the point of it being creepy.

2.) Sailor Moon is not one of the first anime to be created. There are 30 years worth of anime that came before Sailor Moon.

I know people will say "that's not an anime," but Avatar always brings me so much nostalgia because that was my childhood. Also Ponyo, Spirited away, and Howl's Moving Castle.

Ah, the good old days of Sailor Moon. I remember getting all those manga books home and reading them when I should've been doing homework XP I don't think any Otaku could not have heard of Sailor Moon.

Marmalade Boy (In fact, made a thread for it), Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Kodomo no Omocha, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Moon, and Peach Girl. These are the first that come to mind.

>>3 That is not true. An otaku is anyone who obsesses over a hobby. There's no "creepy" requirement.

>>1 Not one of those are "first anime", but it's certainly strange she hadn't heard of them.

The actual first anime was Katsudou Shashin, which aired in 1907.
