I know this is kinda broad, but does anyone have anime recommendations that aren't horror or romance?

Any genre in particular? A few months ago I finished seeing Kuroshitsuji, is very good.

Action, adventure, shounen even slice of life is fine

Charlotte, Aoharu X Kinkanju (Machinegun), Assassination Classroom, Boku Dake ga Inai Michi (ERASED), K, Nourin, Danganronpa, Denpa Kyoushi (Ultimate Otaku Teacher), Haikyuu!!, Gintama, Guilty Crown {the ending sucked, tho}, Tokyo Ghoul {it's technically not horror}, Sabagebu!, Log Horizon, Overlord, No Game No Life, Boku no Pico :P, One Punch Man, The Irregular at Magic High School, Nichijo, The Daily Lives of High School Boys, Black Bullet, Psycho Pass, Bakuman!, Classroom Crisis, Noragami, D-Frag, Blood Lad, I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying, Plastic Neesan, DRAMAtical Murder, Hataraku Maou-sama, Kyoukai no Kanata, Noragami, No. 6, Bubuki Buranki, Death Note, Akame ga Kill, Code Geass, and Aijin are all must-watches.

Charlotte is awesome, 13 episodes. Assassination Classroom is so funny. Boku Dake ga Inai Michi is awesome, just came out this year. I also like K, action and supernatural powers. You must watch Guilty Crown, packed with action. Log Horizon is game and action. No Game No Life is so awesome, especially the characters, 12 episodes. The Irregular at Magic High School is the best. Black Bullet is one of my favorite. Psycho-Pass is way into the future. Death Note is a must watch and overrated anime. Akame ga Kill have a lot of killing and action.

A tip: before starting an anime, check out and skim a few reviews on it on 'MyAnimeList'. People there really know their stuff. This will save you from watching shit shows and help train your brain to distinguish which animes are actually worth wasting hours of your life for. Some opinions hold much more value than others.

Don't let people draw your attention to animes by using a few simple and easy-to-understand words like 'really good', 'best anime ever'(I hate this one the most), 'very good' and 'amazing'. This is not considered evaluation - it's called 'hype', or what I like to call an 'action anime high'.

It will be easy for you to narrow down what types of anime you enjoy the most or prefer watching.

If a show is too far from the norm or if the animation quality or resolution are substandard, even if every other aspect of the show is far above average, people tend to immediately drop it and give it a low score. Some of the best shows I've ever seen have had a 4-6 average rating because of this.
