Plase add your age and gender too. It is for my school project.

What does age and gender have anything to do with 2d/3d animation vs. Traditional animation?

Nothing

13 M. I prefer current anime to former anime. There was a lot of clichés, giant hair, weird logic, and pointless yelling. Current anime is dramatic, subtle, and has deeper meaning.

16 M. I agree with >>4

Newer animes are a lot better.

The exception to this is the original Hellsing

It like movies of today! newer films are more realistic and possibly better to watch but you will always get the timeless anime like cowboy bebop etc.
But i do prefer newer anime like Zankyou no terror, the anime is just like watching moving art its beautiful.

There are definitely newer animes like Fate/Zero that are better than some older ones but there are also hard-to-beat older ones like Cowboy Bebop

>>7 indeed there are a good few older anime like Cowboy Bebop that have stood the test of time, mainly because they where well animated and had a good story, Cowboy Bebop could easily be update with newer animation style and also could keep the old dialogue.

The new ones are more interesting if you ask me.
Sure, there's a ton of Highschool and cliché light novel adaptation stuff, but there are shows like madoka magica, Monogatari, Fate and Stein's Gate which are really unique.
Compared to that, the older ones, and by that I mean Bebop and Trigun, might tell an interesting story, but that's it. The characters all seem somewhat lackluster and it seems like the sole purpose of old anime is telling a story, it seldom conveys ideals or ethical questions.

>>9 "it seldom conveys ideals or ethical questions"

Did you even...watch Trigun?

HAHA YEAH. Because Neon Genesis Evangelion, an old school anime with a hella low budget, was one of the most controversial and mind-blowing animes of all time! Additionally, its deep psychologically traumatic themes aren't worthy of note. Pffft, yeah, no feel shit there at all... Just a plain old' mecha anime...

Other than graphics, I would say that some anime about 5 years ago are greater than current anime. Excluding those new seasons. New seasons are great! Although the current hype, One Punch Man is a fine one. -opinion of a 1st year college, teenager.

'Anime 5 years ago' is not oldschool anime.
