Anime will disappear in Germany (12)

Yeah, it is difficult for us Anime fans in Germany ;_;
we are called freaks or noobs, not having a life people and were always hear the same sentences: Anime is for little kids and crybabies. So we dont have the courage to tell sb we love Anime. People also dont want to hear why we like Anime, cause they are so biased. Maybe here are some people from Germany, too. And read this. And know this. And hate this...

Just a message from a desperated user, which know the value of Anime in these days and regrets to live in such a country.

Fight for your rights. Things can no longer continue in this manner. Vote DAU (Demokratische Anime Union) in the next elections!

I am from germany too. So I know what you mean but I get along with it. :) I have one friend that love Anime so much like me and this is enough for me. But to be truth it would be very nice when people in germany could accept Animes more.

I can so relate to this since I live in Germany myself. Earlier everyone mocked the gamers and now that games are slowly getting accepted by the public people need something new to brag about since many (young?) people like videogames now and consider it a cool hobby to have. Sure there are Anime and Manga for kids but there are many examples for mature ones too. Monster, Psycho Pass or Ghost In The Shell, just to name a view. But since only shows like Pokémon, Naruto etc. were shown on TV many people think that every show is like those. It's just like with us fans itself. Just because some people are detached from society and live in an imaginary world the majority of people judges everyone based on view extreme examples. I declare the world championship of pigeonholing open. The so called "reportages" on TV don’t help either. They only strengthen the prejudices that people already have. Thank you RTL. But when you go to a convention, luckily, you can see many people who surprise, surprise, just enjoy themselves, their hobby and being a part of a community. If people would be more open minded they could see that loving anime is no different from any other hobby. But since people always need to look down at someone to make themselves feel better, they will always search for hobbies or people who are different from the norm. Sorry for rambling here but I just had to get this off my Chest. Have a nice Day :)

Please do not generalize all german anime fans. I doubt that anime is dying in Germany, I know quite a few anime fans and I find more each year. It will only die these "fans" continue streaming anime online on illegal websites. Actually I belive anime is getting more and more popular. I mean Pro 7 MAXX started to show anime aimed at an more mature audience (the anime they show are still pretty mediocre but it is better than nothing...), anime is more accessable than ever (Crunchyroll, DVDs) and the social networks are full of anime reated stuff.
And you really should not care about people with such narrow minds that they have to judge others.

Don't care about the people who say these thing, that anime is just for little kids. I also know a few like them, but I just ignore it. There are plenty of people who love anime in germany, I'm one of them^-^
So cheer up, because there are plenty of fish in the sea who love anime like you and me, whoa, that rhymes! Anyway, you will find someone who you can talk to in real life, if you havnt found someone yet. Stay positive and even if not, there are plenty of people in the internet who would love to talk with you!

Don't give a crap about what other people think. If they don't like it that they don't have to watch it. Watch all you want and ignore those assholes.
