Anybody notice the similarities?

I think Evangelion is pretty tame in comparison to other anime but maybe I have just seen too much of it.^^
Eva makes its gruesome and perverted content less obvious than other anime (http://wiki.evageeks.org/Theory_and_Analysis:Sexuality_In_Misato_and_Shinji's_Relationship).
If you look closely there are references and things that borrow from Evangelion in almost every anime, for example Elfen Lied episode 9 (?) wich is FULL of EoE references or Plastic Memories.

Although I have heard mostly negative things about Mirai Nikki I am planning to watch it, so don't worry.
I would not say that Kaworu is gay, although it certainly looks like that on the surface.
I feel I should leave it at that and remind you that we DOLLARS should be nice to each other regardless of our anime preferences. :)
