What was the saddest moment in ANY anime

The saddest moment for me would have to be Nagisa's death from
Clannad or any past life scene from Angel Beats!

This is my list of tearjerking Anime:
- Sword Art Online (Mother's rosario arc)
- Golden Time
- Sakurasou no pet na kanojo
- Plastic Memories

On the top of my head, I can only think about the movies "When Marnie was There" and "Hal." Both super good and so bittersweet. ;u;

Oh, and there's the Free! english dub that had me crying on the first episode for an entirely different reason, lol

L's death in Death Note and I've cried in the end of every episode of Ano Hana :'(

On a related note we have a thread for most touching anime in general too.

One of my saddest moments in anime is the death of Inori from Guilty crown, I really did not expect it what makes it even sadder is that shu did not get a good ending.

Planet of the beast kings end made me cry the first time around and I definitely got a little emotional on the second time through.

This thread has more posts than the last one which was basically abandoned so fuck it.

I still think it's a bad idea because people post in this without any regard to spoilers. But I guess it's everybody's choice whether to look in it or not.

Angel beats and clannad are my saddest I was depressed for weeks after watching the end of angel beats.

For some reason I cried watching Psycho-Pass season one. The last two episodes especially just killed me inside haha seeing what the characters had become over the course of the show :,(

For me it was when Makoto yelled at Haru in Free! Eternal Summer, the very last scene about the third dimension in Future Diary, when Kyouya's dad slaps him in Ouran High School Host Club, when Izaya got stabbed and/or the ending or No. 6!!!

I think the ending of K is pretty sad...brings some tears in my eyes everytime
