Despite the blandness and desire to be designed purely as a wish fulfilment SAO would be a half decent introduction to anime. On the contrary Log Horizons unique interpretation on the VRMMORPG genre combined with the interface of action the plot is better. The two combined have the potential for a more successful and possibly long lasting anime.
