High school student Chiyo Sakura has a crush on schoolmate Umetarou Nozaki, but when she confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. Chiyo discovers that Nozaki is actually a renowned shoujo manga artist named Sakiko Yumeno. She then agrees to be his assistant in order to get closer to him.
As they work on his manga, they encounter other schoolmates who assist them or serve as inspirations for characters in the stories.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is a comedy series that's 12 episodes long and just finished airing. It's cute and hilarious and all the characters are fun and have interesting quirks and personalities.
If you're looking for something nice to unwind with I totally recommend it!

bang, I was going to finish the series tonight and make a thread for it.

Anyway, this took me a while to dig, I'm not sure, I just wasn't feeling the first couple of episodes for whatever reason. By episode 5 though, I started to like it more and now at season's end I have to say it's probably the best high-school anime so far this year.
oh and the OP's funky as hell. I dig it.

Probably the best part about the show that was most obvious was the irregular reversed gender role stuff. Like how Nozaki's heroine was based on Mikoshiba.

Yeah, I liked the show, hope they continue it sometime.
This was one of the shows that was able to make me laugh, so it's probably one of the best shows of the summer season for me.

I've just finished catching up with the manga and if you enjoyed the anime I definitely recommend the manga too!
It includes gems such as: the inevitable trip to the beach chapter! Nozaki's pain in the ass little brother! the boys playing an otome game! tanuki!

oh yeah, at the end of the anime I saw a guy how looked exactly like Nozaki except his hair was a tad longer. He was at the festival.

this is a really great show. it does pretty much everything right and has really good animation especially that sword fight scene was done nicely~ the characters are awesome and the herione(s) are cute... I recommend it 100%

I love this anime. I thought it would be a typical shoujo, but it's not really, and that great. It's just so hilarious to me that Nozaki just unintentionally was so blunt and yet oblivious at the same time. And Mikorin is adorable.
I hope this gets another season. Aaaand I need to give the manga a read.

Love this anime so much! I loved the anime so much that it got me to read the manga. It is extremely funny and I recommend this to a lot of people who like comedy and to those who like the non-cliched, like the main girl being the realist and main guy being the oblivious one.

This manga is beast. It's so many jokes, so relatable to artists, I love it so much, but the last anime episode. Uhhhhh.... That ending scene was the very definition of "bittersweet".
