Tokyo ESP begins with Rinka Urushiba as a fairly normal high school girl, though she is a bit poor and her only family is her father. This forces her to work as a waitress after high school to raise money for them to secure rent and food. One day, she sees a penguin and some glowing fish swimming through the sky. Rinka might have thought it was a hallucination if there had not been another witness with her, a boy from her school with a strangely scratched-up face. Contact with a fish causes her to pass out, and when she awakens, she has developed the power to move through inanimate objects such as the floor of her apartment. She meets a fellow high school student named Kyotaro Azuma, who has the ability to teleport. The two of them use their ESP powers to take on individuals who have decided to use them for evil. However, there is an organization that plans for a bigger scheme to secure utopia with their ranks consisting of strong ESP fighters and users.

Thats the wiki plot, it started off a lot different and i couldnt help notice the 2 main characters from Ga-rei zero and a few other characters, still trying to figure out if this show is a prequel or in a alternate dimension, but either way judging from the first episode i just watched i love this show already and really hope it gets the Ga-rei series back up and running :)

This sounds really good, but I'll probably wait until there are more episodes out to get into it.

Actually, I think I'll take a look at the first episode. The fact that wiki says it's rated R and that the clips I've seen are really sexy has inspired me to try it out.

Wow. First five minutes, and I'm already really into this. The premise seems naisu. The art is a bit above average, but what makes it amazing is just the way they set the scenes. Every little detail is accounted for. The animation and movement are also superb so far. The voice acting is also really really good.

My only issue is the hair. The animation for the hair is so bad I couldn't bite back my laughter when the first character came running forward and the head just moved from up to down. I guess they had to give something up to afford to make the fights as fluid as they are.

First episode was awesome and left me curious. I love the character designs and how even the civilians are all unique.

However, the story so far is completely off from the summary here. I think they did the first episode as a hook and are going to introduce the actual lead character in the second episode ("Boy Meets Girl"). I'd prefer they would have cut the episode half-and-half (hook-and-op) like most series do, but w/e.

ugh another one to add to this season's plan-to-watch list.

Normally I'd be really happy but there's too damn much this season. lol

hmmm, two episodes in, this is alright.

It's sort of anime's take on X-Men. Sort of.

The first episode was stronger than the second because yes, it was a hook. I'm curious to see how they ended up to the point of episode 1 but I'm worried the journey will dawdle until we get there to reintroduce all the characters we've seen thus far. If this is the case, I'll be disappointed, but whatever. I'm intrigued enough to keep going. I just hope the fan service is kept to a minimum - this show would be better off without it.

I'm really fond of Ga-Rei ( the manga not the anime ) but I didn't really like this one. The characters are way too similar to the ones from Ga-Rei and the story is going the same way too.

yeeeeeah this is getting less and less interesting each week

there's no sense of tension, the dialogue is so lazy, it's just...boring. Even the action sequences are getting increasingly less well-choreographed. Disappointing.
