Edgy sarcasm aside, the anime seems to be cutting around a lot. So manga readers are in for a bitter sweet ride. People are speculating the series will shove in everything until after the Aogiri arc in 12 episodes. I thought that was too short but with how things are looking, that's probably what is going to happen. Finally a horror anime again and it gets messed up. Just like Pupa. But that was garbage even as a manga if we're being hones

I started reading the manga only a few weeks before the Anime started airing. They've done a massively great job in the anime and i can't say there is anything i didn't like about it. But one thing that sightly bothered me is how much they skipped in the anime by suddenly jumping to the events shown in episode 4..

I've read the manga and seen the anime. The animation is superb but I think they're rushing the plot a little bit and what the hell is with the censoring? As far as I had seen in the anime, I have to say it wasn't really that gory or worth censoring than the original manga.

The anime is good and still on going, it is currently at ep. 10 and theresa new one every thursday on kissanime.com. i haven't read the manga quite yet, but it is a lot longer then the anime which is supposed to end at ep 12 from what i have heard.

I thought episode 12 was pretty decent for this anime. Manga still hands down way better. No comparison.

So happy with episode 12, I mean yeah of course the manga is 99% of the time always better the show but the fight scene definitely made up for it and we could've had a worse adaption honestly (looks at shaft)

If you are an anime only watcher and are thinking of reading the manga YES PLEASE DO THE MANGA IS ONE OF THE BEST then start from the beginning cause with the limited episodes things were left out and shuffled around and the explanations are much clearer~ after kaneki gets white hair things just keep getting so much better it's insane (the manga is completed)

It's a very good anime, it's just that it takes a long time to get to a certain part (for me) but it's probably because I read the manga first haha, but overall the story is good.

As a big fan of this series, I sure as hell hope Ishida is going to continue it in some way.

Okay to all you Tokyo Ghoul anime watchers and non-manga readers you better sit down your ass right now with your seat grabbed because I am gonna give you a passionate lecture from a passionate fan of Tokyo Ghoul. Why? Because Tokyo Ghoul deserved so much more than this shit animation. (Although it's still very pleasurable to have this series animated I mean damn badass Kaneki man)

First off, the anime cut off a LOT of things. Like, shit ton fucking lot. What type of kagunes are there? What are RC cells? What are the character's importance in the series, for example, Suzuya Juuzou? Also some other things that shouldn't be spoiled yet for you guys. They even missed out on major quotes from the manga. Anyway, it is very simple to judge this anime merely as an advertisement to the god-level manga. Not to mention, the censorship. Like, what happened? You'll be in a thrill for gore when you're reading the manga
Secondly, the character developments, which are SUPER super super important. Yet, they cast the majority of it aside. Take for example Nishiki Nishio; he suddenly becomes very nice in like the span of 2-4 eps (I forgot the chronology of the anime). But you get the idea. Also, how about the developments with others, like Touka's or Yomo? It's practically impossible to sympathize with the characters if you haven't seen their relationships together. It's a big letdown to tasting the fullest potential greatness of TG.
Third, Kaneki is not stupid, a weakling, nor a bitch. There was a REASON why he decided to go along with Tsukiyama, and not just following him blindly like in the anime. He did not fight like a weakling when having a battle with Amon. There was a complete and reasonable different reason how and why Kaneki was kidnapped. (The Bin Brothers or whatever they were called again did not die in the manga. And they definitely portrayed Jason pretty nicely, I must say.) Anyway, this is all the more reason to /at least/ check out the manga. I mean, if you're a story-seeking lover who wants to find the most greatest plots and stories of all time, Tokyo Ghoul is definitely for you, if you can bear the gore.
In conclusion, please dear mother of god read the manga. From. The. Start.

If your definition of first few chapters for the merely 12 eps of this anime is the meaning of SIXTY CHAPTERS, then I guess you can continue on then???
HOWEVER, all of my reasons have been placed on this post that clearly says to read from the start, and you have no idea how happy I would be if you do.
In other words, read the manga all from the beginning, because you're missing out on so many things. The anime BUTCHERED the original story. I am so saddened because this series deserved so much more than that (btw as a side note from me Kaneki did nothing wrong if it's anyone who deserves happiness it's him that poor baby). The show deserved 26 episodes. It deserves a second season, maybe even a third if possible.

The anime won't stop at 12 episodes and is going to continue,right?Although,if the Anteiku wouldn't have engaged in that fight between the humans and that other ghoul gang,it could've ended there because the last episode was great.Probably the best,in my opinion.

BUT it is already confirmed that the second season will air in Winter 2015.
Hopefully they will have a better, slower pacing(After reading the manga up to volume 3 I can understand everyone who was complaining about the pacing).

I watched the anime series, and I love Touka's kagune! It's so beautiful OuO. So now I'm currently reading the manga. But so far anime-wise, I really think, gore and all those things aside, this show really has a message to tell us.

Ghouls have no choice but to eat humans. Normal food just can't satisfy them, and it makes them sick.
But the humans have established corporations to ATTACK and GET RID OF ghouls, simply because "they eat us".
But what about the ghouls? What can they do? They were BORN like this, they didn't have a choice.

Likewise, in society, human discrimation and racism is a huge topic nowadays. But one must be reminded before they judge, that you can't choose how you were born.

Which is why I think Tokyo Ghoul is a great series. From the POV from Kaneki, who is neither this or that, you can really see the conflicts.

Tokyo Ghoul is awesome and I'm always captivated by the OP song animation with such perfect timings. It just makes people want to sing along and scream...

When I watched the last episode I was so emotionally screwed that I didn't even start crying until two hours after I watched it. Some think the last episode was horrible, but as someone who hasn't read the manga (I KNOW I'M WORKING ON IT XD XD) I thought it was as best-fully showed as anything like that could have been. PEOPLE! Stop comparing the manga with the anime! They are entirely different from each other. This is just like in books and films; sure, the film is an adaptation of the book but that's the point. Books don't have to shove everything in the film. Books (and in this case, the manga) have different set of standards and format from that of the film (anime series). The anime adaptation has to follow certain guidelines so they are practically limited as to what to adopt from the manga.

Think of them as intersecting lines. They intersect at one point because they are similar with each other since they're talking about ONE PLOT after all; but then that's it. They don't have to intersect again since they must follow different formats.

So please, stop saying "The book is better than the film" or "The manga is waayy better than the anime!" because those two are different!

I really recommend reading the manga than the anime bc it didn't follow the manga, although the animation was really on spot. The sequel to the manga is currently ongoing and it's got me hooked :)

Also, I first started to read the manga bc I was just bored and had nothing to do, then I got hooked until I became very emotional over this series :(

I remember this one. I guess I liked it, although I do think it's overrated. Kaneki is cool though, and Eto is still one of my favorite female characters in anime.
