Hoozuki is the aide to the great king of Hell, King Enma. Calm and super-sadistic, Hoozuki tries to resolve the various problems in Hell. This is a daily life of Hoozuki and his people.
The setting and look are basically what seduced me into watching this show. It's a nice little comedy that I don't think will interest that many people, but I'm a sucker for things involving Japanese folklore and am enjoying it a lot so far!
There are 2 episodes out at the moment and the series is set to have 12 of them in total.

Ah, I've been wanting to watch this ever since I saw it on the chart this season... the art reminds me of something... I just can't place it. Now it's bugging me, I think we've talked about it before too. Fuck.

The only thing I can think of is that the yellow clouds look like the ones from the poster from Mononoke lol

I'd kind of recommend this show to people familiar with Gintama. The humor is pretty similar, mostly day to day shenanigans, although the setting is more unusual and the jokes a little more, uh, tame, I guess.
There are a lot of reference-based jokes (about current things or history/mythology) though, so I'm gonna complain about the subbing a bit. The sub job (both Cruncy's and the other sub group's) is pretty meh in my opinion. A few more on-screen explanations wouldn't kill anyone really. And who the heck though it was a good idea to translate Sanzu River as the river Styx? Even though they're similar, mythologies aren't interchangeable like that and it's just really jarring :/
I'm enjoying the show a lot, but I dislike feeling like things are flying over my head. With a series like this there should be more effort put into making it accessible to a non-japanese audience, and I'm not seeing a lot of that here, sigh.

So either the translations got better or I just got accustomed to the show, but somewhere after the halfway point I wasn't really bothered by anything anymore and really just had a lot of fun with this show :>

I remember being thrilled at getting my hands on this exact poster last December. I had no idea what the anime was going to be like, but now that it's long finished, I absolutely loved it!
Hoozuki's sadism is hilarious, and his apparent love for animals is equally attractive. And the rest of the supporting cast is just- <3
