A new anime premiering today that's directed by Takahiro Omori at Manglobe. Plot: Male model Masayoshi Hazama decides to become a superhero, despite having no superpowers or the technology to create a high-powered suit. He becomes the hero, Samurai Flamenco and begins to fight crime in the name of justice. Police officer Hidenori Goto finds out about Samurai Flamenco and his real identity by a twist of fate, which leads to him getting involved into lots of trouble. Nonetheless, these two young men will come face to face with hardships of being crime-fighters while discovering what it truly means to be a hero of justice.

I found this show really funny! I'm quite looking forward to it this season.

This show is so damn good.

why do I get the feeling the red axe guy is king torture, as he seems to go off just at the right time. :P

disclaimer: I have not read the manga just a feeling I have.

I'm trying to get through Samurai Flamenco, but I get so much second-hand embarrassment from Blondie that I have to skip over half of every episode.
I get the feeling that it might do a Madoka Magica later on, though. So I guess I'm going to keep watching for now.

I feel like that would be too far removed from his established character to be the case. He may be an egotist, but he still seems to have a strong sense of justice. Craziness or not, all of the character motivations in the show make perfect sense so far.

Daaaaaaaaaaaamn dude. This show is insane. To answer your remark Hiromi, it's pretty much full on madoka right now. What I'm amazed at though is that I'm still laughing too.

Things are getting interesting again. I feel like Hazama's personality has changed too much almost.

Samurai Flamenco is actually on my list for animes to watch when I have the time.

Also, they totally used the goldeneye sound effects for Torture's base. That was tight.

I thought at first when i watch this anime was, "this is just a reflection anime for the people who is so obsessed with animes" but then there it is, the change of plot and obviously it gets better and now 1 of the animes that I like the most last season xD

This show... I'm sorry, but I was very disappointed. The original concept was cool, vigilante style justice and the growing pains of being a hero. Now it's "Oh look! A whole team and colossal aliens from space and a govt. organization with giant robots!"

I will say, the king torture base not only caught me by surprise, but was excellently set up by the rest of the shows contrast. I liked the end of that arc, but this new one is just boring.

Apparently the deal is that the writer couldn't decide which show to make one of the three shows he had in mind, a vigilante show, a sentai show, and a drama, so in the end he combined the three of them into this show. Not really an excuse for it's being kind of all over the place (which I completely acknowledge as a legitimate flaw), but it is kind of interesting how that all came about, and it's resulting effects.

I feel like the finale for this was the most fitting thing that could've happened, but that doesn't prevent me from disliking it.

You know, because of all of the many things that it could have been convoluting the image I get of what it actually was, I have literally no way of placing a rating on this guy right now. it could be anywhere from a 4 to an 8, I simply can't remember how much I actually enjoyed it or how good I thought it was because of how often it would totally change itself. I still call it a good show for sure though. It was definitely an enjoyable run.

Hello everyone!! I started watching this anime called Samurai Flamenco. I wanna watch one episode every day and discuss it with whoever wants to do the same. This anime is about a male model who decides to become a superhero. The only problem is that he has no idea how to do just that. Its as if batman had all his wealth but no gadgets or special skills. Its super funny and I've only watched the first episode ( currently watching it) . His name is Masayoshi Hazama. Masayoshi means justice in Japanese so he makes people call him by his first name because he loves justice that much. So far he only has one friend, a cop who accidentally lit Masayoshi's costume on fire. He doesn't have the same idealistic morals as Masayoshi so they contrast each other well. Despite this, the cop known as Hidenori Goto is a police officer so he's always on the right side of the law for example when he first sees Masayoshi he calls him an exhibitionist and threatens to arrest him. Haven't even finished the first episode so i'm gonna get back to it

i really liked the first arc(king torture)but the second half the series it's kinda boring? it's still funny but compared to the beginning its disappointing. It did really remind me of the kickass movies tho
