It accomplished what it set out to do with the story and characters. I prefer a show I love to end in that kind of way, where it feels complete, rather than continue to go on just because the people who love it want it to continue. That way, you still have what you love, and there's no risk of it being run into the ground, or petering out as the result of being continued past what it was intended to do.
In my opinion, that's why you re-watch something you love: to get more of it. You can also often notice things you may have missed before that can add even more richness to your experience of something you already love.
