Okay guise so I finally watched episode 1. My thoughts:
Pros:
---KyoAni is still one of, if not the best, animation studios out there. The art is top-tier stuff.
---Only one of the main male leads has an obnoxiously squeaky voice
---There were a few points where I legitimately chuckled. Decent side-banter.
---Gou/Kou is a thing. Yay, a female.
---Episode doesn't consist solely of bishie sparkles.
Cons:
---Still a lot of bishie sparkles.
---If this continues to have an ab shot every two minutes, it will drag the quality down. At least they know their target audience, I guess.
---The squeaky voiced, more than likely homosexual faggot
---Rin seems like a really cliche sports story "antagonist," though I'll give it the benefit of the doubt since it's only one episode.
But ultimately, let's face it, this show is not intended for me, and unless it suddenly gets interesting and original and tones down the fanservice immensely, I have no intention of watching more.

I was waiting for a thread on this to appear. I've kept up with the show and it seems pretty okay. The art is lovely and it seems interesting. Also, the female characters are lovely (I was scared that, with this being a fairly fanservice-y anime, there would be few/not that great female characters but it appears I was wrong)
I'm not awfully big on the fanservice (GASP A FEMALE WHO DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT FANSERVICE YES WE EXIST), but I prefer it to unrealistically giant breasts that take up the whole screen. But I'm enjoying it for the time being and will continue to watch it.

Buuut, I have mixed feelings about how they're trying to cover this up by tossing in a female lead. I can see a "reverse harem" tab slowly fading into the picture. I'm pretty fucking pissed off how every other anime has these gigantic tit/cleavage shots and stereotyped female leads made to fit the requests of the male fanbase's dicks, so I'm not goddamn complaining about the glittery abs and dick bulges.

I don't like HSotD because of the excessive fanservice, but I'm not it's target audience either, just like you're not the target audience here. (But really, her tits were jiggling so fast a bullet got between them, and they showed it in slow motion. Seriously? /Seriously?/ At least this anime doesn't have erected penises dodging bullets...)
I'm also apparently not the target audience for 98% of the rest of anime produced 'cuz panty/cleavage shots, awkward situations, stripping, and the generalizing of cliche lead females which I don't see the point of. Unless you're going to generalize/cliche the male leads as well for the female fans, it's bullshit.
The only anime I can think of that has non-trolling service for female fans is Fairy Tail. They're also fairly balanced about their gender stereotyping.

Free! Iwatobi Swim Club was nothing like I thought it would be. I was expecting it to be nothing but a fanservice type show aimed at girls. And, yes, we did get some of that but it also turned out to be a much more serious and heartwarming show. I adore the relationships between the characters and their struggles concerning their sport, friends, and their futures. I am looking forward to any continuation this anime may bring about. However, if we never get a continuation, I will be fine with that as well because I felt that the ending was satisfying enough. Truly an amazing anime! (Also, the novel it is based off of, High Speed, is just as lovely! I recommend you check it out if you haven't already! ^_^)

This show was really good, in my opinion. I usually like to watch action based shows, or philosophical shows, so this was very refreshing to watch.

This show was not just fanservice. To be honest, there was a deeper meaning than this hilarious-looking show. The characters were greatly developed, have great connection to symbolism, and has a plot that no one really notices in society these days. Also as a person who actually likes swimming, the animation quality was actually really refreshing (SO MUCH WATER XD). I really liked this anime, and I'm really hoping there will be a second season.
I like Haru :3 and I ship MakoHaru :3 My favorite character is Rei. He's so precious.

The anime is the best because its pretty much a parody off all those sports animes that are really gay but no one acknowledges it. This show goes along and puts the fan service so far out there that is practically unable to be read any other way. Not to mention, the boys are the ones in the position of scantily clad eye candy. The writers know exactly who they are writing for and it's glorious. If you just look at the anime itself, then its almost embarrassing to watch, but the parodies and subtext is really what makes this one of the best anime ever in my opinion.

Spoilers for those of who haven't watched ep 11 or beyond the series, or the Light Novel "High Speed!".
I feel like if Haruka decides to go to Australia with Rin (which would be a good idea RINHARU YES <3), Makoto is going to come see them before they go. I can't bear think that Makoto would be okay without Haruka. Plus, if you have read High Speed!, Makoto literally gets hurt and uncomfortable if he wasn't with Haruka for a long time. I really feel like that'll happen but AUGGH MORE MAKOHARU FEELS (yes, I ship both RinHaru and MakoHaru :P MH is mah Otp thou).
