First of all, I'm quite surprised that no one hasn't made a thread about this yet (I already checked in All Threads).

The school romantic comedy revolves around a second-year high school student named Kanda Sorata who lives in Sakurasou, the dormitory for problem children at Sorata's school. One day, Shiina Mashiro — a cute girl who happens to be also a cosmopolitan, brilliant artist — moves into Sakurasou. Sorata thinks to himself that he should protect Mashiro from the weirdos at Sakurasou, but Mashiro has a surprising secret: she has no idea how to take care of herself. She gets lost if she goes out, and her room is a complete mess. Sorata's dorm mates designate him as the master of Mashiro, and thus, an ordinary boy and a brilliant girl must live like a master and his pet.

I have to say. This is one of my favorite animes. Has anyone seen this yet? And looking back on episode 13, what do you think is going to happen with Mashiro and Sorata?

yayayayay I was hoping that Shiina and Sorato would be the ones to get together.
No offence to Aoyama but she just doesn't fit to par in Shinna terms.

Latest episode was heartwarming, but the cliffhanger ending really made me scream at the computer screen.

My friend believes Aoyama would be a better fit for Sorato than Shiina.
BLASPHEMY! Aoyama is so average, you could pick her off any hypothetical anime curb whilst Shiina on the other hand is a brilliant dysfunctional artist who relies on him. Not sure how you could not want Sorato with anybody else.

The japanese have a thing for this "normal, average girl" archetype that somehow makes them compete seriously with anyone unique. It's weird, and bugs me - But it's a cultural thing.

However, Shiina's definitely OTP here. Aoyama isn't used as a rival love interest, but a supporting character. And because of that, I actually really like her. You get to see more of her personality, and the series feels more fleshed out than everyone revolving around Sorata.

Don't write Aoyama off as generic though. She is a strong character on her own, with established dreams, interests and ideas. She just can't compete with Shiina, which is kind of sad, as it has her falling into a similar theme of people actively or accidentally measuring themselves against Shiina and losing, despite Shiina herself not even really trying.

I see some major angst occurring due to this later.

8, I agree wtih you partly because I love Shiina and can't stand anybody threatening or damaging her happiness.
9 is completely right however. Aoyama is a good character with strong points and a likeable personality. Sorata will not end up with her however. The fact that she loves him so much will make this quite torment fueled and destructive as 9 said at the end.

21-23 were this horrible emotional breaking point.

Meh Shiina was always the better one. I have a friend who has a wierd thing for "Normal" girls and he picked Aoyoma but apart from that everybody chose Shiina. SHE IS SO PERFECT! Good series though jope it picks up again.

Don't get me wrong I love Shiina but Misaki is just pure crazy/awesome within a human shell. Even her anime is great *Tear rolls down cheek*

Tasks misalignment is just rad she and her ma driving skills and capability of totally throwing u off her character at the end

I've watched the entire 24 episode of season 1 for this anime. All I could say is....can't wait for the next season...I really love Aoyama, she's an ideal girl for Sorata hehe

i really loved this anime, it was the only anime that made me cry without anyone dying. i liked how they dealt with a lot of failure and how they kept trying despite how many times they had failed, except shiina, everyone loved her. i plan on re watching it soon.

I... I can't even. How is this so damn good? Show's like this aren't supposed to be good. It's fucking 6 in the morning and I have class in 2 hours, and I haven't slept at all because I started watching this when I went to bed. Seriously, boiler plate generic moe shitty anime premise, but god DAMN somebody finally wrote a show like this that works.

Thank you so much!I finished the anime and it was wonderfull it had some funny moments, it had sad moments and happy moments it had everything I wanted. I enjoyed it so much that I am kind of sad it has stopped!

Did anyone else feel like they weren't up to pair on whatever skill they had because of this anime? Like for me I'm an artist and I really felt for the MC.
I get why he would be so confused.

I'm a Sound Designer hoping to work in post production for film. I know I'm good at what I do, but regardless, I know I'm going to be editing dialogue for reality TV or some pointless crap for at least a couple years before I can even get the required hours to join the labor union and even be eligible for decent work... Even though I know a lot of people way better than me their reality is the same. Sometimes you just need to learn to suck it up and put in the effort before you can even call what you do part of your dream.
