I'd have to go with CLANNAD or The World God Only Knows, both of those were great, but I do have to Say Eureka and Renton in Eureka 7, despite it may not being classed as a "romance anime" still had an amazing story with them.

Hm, since Dengeki Daisy is still just a manga, I would have to say Kaichou wa Maid-sama (The President is a Maid). The main heroine, Ayuzawa Misaki is a really strong person, which I like, and Usui Takumi is just to die for. He's so hot...

There are a lot of good ones out there, so I can't really choose my absolute favorite....
Nagi no Asukara was pretty darn good though. As was Kaichou wa Maid-sama and (don't know if this counts) Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai.
Manga-wise (these don't have anime counterpart yet sadly), some good ones include Dengeki Daisy and Koe no Katachi.

Clannad isn't really even a romance. Ot would be more accurate to say that it's a somewhat school life, slice of life, supernatural tragedy. Nevertheless, although not free of flaws, it is brilliant.
