Dusk Maiden of Amnesia is primarily about Konoe Yuuko. Or rather, her ghost.

She's been dead for many, many years and haunts the school which was built upon the site she died at. Most ghosts haunt things due to unresolved issues, some due to lingering regret... Yuuko doesn't know why she's haunting the school.

She's got amnesia.

Thing is, this school is full of ghost stories. Most of them are due to Yuuko's haunting, but seven on them in particular are in fact distorted or related to the truth regarding Yuuko's death and the circumstances that led her to haunting the school in the first place.

enter Teiichi Niya, a kind of plain kid who can see ghosts. Yuuko to be exact. Well, everyone can see Yuuko... But they only see her as what they expect to see her as. Teiichi is the only one inherently capable of seeing Yuuko simply as Yuuko.

And then, beyond that, he can touch her. To a ghost who has lived just outside of life for years, this is an amazing thing.

Later joined by Konoe Kirie, a descendant of Yuuko's sister, and Momoe, some random unimportant girl, they form the Paranormal Investigation club in order to discover the truth behind Yuuko's haunting.

...But things aren't always that simple, and some secrets are better left buried. A darker side of the ghost stories stalks the halls, and it's not about to let it's bitterness go unheard.

So, this series. It's actually from last season, I finished it some time ago.

This series did make it into my top 5 anime. I thought some serious emotion came out of me when Toradora happened - Dusk Maiden went right up there and surpassed it all in the very last episode. It was just heart wrenchingly sad at the end of an otherwise horror/comedy/mystery type series.

The over all experience was extremely heart warming, and it's soundtrack was simply beautiful. The OP and ED are both amazing - enough so that I found myself sitting through them to listen to them during each episode, and I marathoned the series.

One other song particularly of note, called "Requiem" plays in Episode 7.

Truly an amazing series, but it was made when the manga was still in production and is even now on going. I have yet to read the manga, though I'm keen to get into it ASAP - I fear that it won't provide the same level of feels as the anime did.

...Or maybe the feels will be stronger. Oh the possibilities.

If you liked the anime, wich I personally though was a little off to what I've read up until then, then I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the manga series.

The fan-service is always present but trying to fit a lot of misterys and plot in this short amount of episodes turned out against bad (I think) for the creator. They should at least done more story driven episodes reducing some of the mysterys that we all got were all related to Yuku, or reduced the intensity and dephness (I dont know how to write it, sorry) of the story. Either way I enjoyed it and it's recomendable.

I watched it a couple of weeks a go and loved it and was glad it had a happy ending.

Oh man, just finished this.

My emotions took a fucking roller-coaster in that last episode.
The 2nd quarter of the show seemed a little filler-ish, but overall, this was fantastic.

Oh god, the last episode.

"We're happy!"
"Wait no, we're miserable..."
"No, I'm actually happy now!"
"Just kill me now ;~;"

I'm just relieved the series ended on a high point, rather than a low point. If it had resolved itself at the end of the diary sequence I would have been plain useless for a week straight.

I couldn't agree more.
The scene with Teiichi just wandering around the room at the end were probably only 20 seconds at the most, but they felt like an eternity. It was just the complete "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" feeling.

But then it was all fine, so hooray.

Definitely in my top 5 anime from 2012 so far.

Way to spoil the series

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on the manga to update

BUT I GUESS THAT WON'T BE NECESSARY SINCE I KNOW SHE'S GOING TO DISAPPEAR ANYWAYS

The anime was good, but the end is terrible in my opinion
