" Living on the shadow of his prodigious younger sister, Kyousuke Kosaka conducts a normal lifestyle until he accidentally finds out that she hides a secret. In addition to being smart, pretty, and popular; Kirino Kosaka is also an obsessive consumer of anime and eroge (adult computer games). After being assured that Kyousuke is committed to not mock her and keep this concealed from their parents, she starts to share a bit of her world with him. Kirino faces several problems as she tries to keep the appearances and balance her exemplar school life with her hobbies. Her brother then becomes a crucial ally while dealing with all the difficulties that lie ahead."
Main point of this thread is to hear opinions of Oreimo.
Honestly I did not regret watching this anime but I do want to say that people that were expecting this to be sort of realistic about one of the central themes might be a it disappointed. This is more of a fanciful tale involving otakism and a lot of likeable characters. Some may not be your cup of tea and that's under stable but I'm sure any viewer might have at least one character that grows on them. I'll also say it's quite amusing how anime within this anime is kind of openly dissed though you can't help but laugh at it yet then you recall that you yourself are watching an anime. At least that's what I got out of it that was most interesting.
