Surprising enough there wasn't a thread on this, or the search option on my computer sucks.
Anyways, This Saturday at 8:30 am will be the premier for Kaijudo, Rise of the Duel Masters.
Basically it is just North America's version of Duel Masters. They screwed up the first time, so they can't just bring it back with the original titles. The card game, again is basically Duel Masters but with the separate title because I guess it would have been too hard for Wizards of the Coast to begin selling the cards once more, with new creatures, rules, and design.
The show doesn't look half bad if I say so myself.
The story is about a young boy, Ray, and his ability to summon creatures from a parallel dimension to duel along side him and his friends who also have this ability. Ray and his friends must join together along with the Duel Masters to defeat the Choten, an evil minded guy who wants to use these creatures to take over the dimensions.
The creators of the new Duel Masters have said in a sneak preview that they had an idea for this show from the original Duel Masters, with the question of where did they come from, where did the creatures come from and what is the whole story for them.
The new show also has award winning David Colman as the illustrator, which is a pretty cool thing. The animation for the show isn't chalky or unpleasant like some shows people have tried to revive, and the game doesn't seem like a complete failure.
We'll just have to see what happens for this new animated show.

I saw the first episode on the internet. Not as good as the original Duel Masters, but it has potential I'll say.

Their main screw up was not making the card game compatible with the original, especially since most of the cards are the same. They could just re-release everything they already had, then move on to the new sets.

>>3 I feel you man. They should have, but they Wizards of the Coast likes to have money for themselves. Truth be told I hope this game doesn't end like Chaotic and more others. I would change the card design to look more like the original, but at least they are using some original artwork with some of the original Japanese art as well. I have hope for the game.
