Set in a near future setting, this story is about our self-hating, pathetic,and fat student of a protagonist named Haruyuki Arita. Ina world where people can use neruo-synchronization where they can access the internet and enter the virtual world as avatars of themselves, Arita immerses himself in playing squash alone and getting the highest score...until one day his score was broken. In real life, Arita catches the attention of Student Council Vice-President Kuroyukihime who offers him Brain Burst, a secret program which allows a person to make time appear to stand still in their surroundings by "accelerating" their brainwaves in the real world. In order to get more points to accelerate the enigmatic vice president introduces the fat wboy with a a serious low self esteem issue to the VRMMO fighting game....

In all seriousness, it seems decent, but I really don't know what to say about this. Everyone except the main character is drawn in a serious manner, while he is just drawn like almost a younger audience. I guess that is how I would put it.

I... Don't understand the reasoning for making the main character fat AND short. He must be like... 3 feet or at the most 4 feet flat or something, with the way they made everyone else look. Goddamn. They could have made him like 4'11, that's probably believable. But shit man. Short as fuck. I'm fine with the fatness, because everyone isn't skinny as shit. I think.

But anyways, aside from the artwork, everything's fine, I suppose. No flaw I can come up with at the moment.

Probably the mangaka wanted to give a reason to bully the kid. Plus think of your self esteem when you're both fat, short and ugly

I haven't watched Accel World, but this statement caught my interest. Would you say it's kind of like how the main character of Sora no Otoshimono got drawn in comparison to... literally everything else?

They seemed to put a good deal of time and effort into making everything else's art and design fairly pleasing, but he got shafted with some horrible chibification in pretty much every scene.

Loved the anime besides the fact that Haruyuki is a short puff ball and for some reason is really good with women

Been watching this anime for the last 2 days. I was hooked since episode 1, and am currently up to episode 20. The story is amazing! I really wish they'd hurry up and come out with something similar to a Neuro-Link. Sadly, I won't be a teen anymore by that time.
