Ahoy!! Sorry if this is a duplicate, I searched, but recently, I've gotten into this anime called Ga Rei Zero and it's a sequel or prequel (prequel I think) to another anime called Ga Rei, or so wikipedia tells me. This was copy pasted from Anime News Network. orz

Plot Summary: The Japanese Ministry of Defense has an anti-paranormal special forces group called the Paranormal Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters. They're the ones responsible to protect Japanese soil and its people from supernatural and paranormal events. However, things didn't go so well in one of their missions, which leads to intervention by the Ministry of Enviroment's Supernatural Disaster Countermeasures Division after the PDCH has sustained large numbers of casualties battling demons.

There may be tearful moments if you're empathetic enough. I should really watch the original before I finish this. orz

I thought it was pretty good. And yeah, it's a prequel to Ga Rei.
I thought it should have been longer. It didn't really develop enough.
From what your post says I'm assuming you haven't finished, so I won't spoil anything. But especially with the events of the later episodes, I feel like it was really rushed. And I kind of had a hard time relating to the characters (plus whoever plays Kagura in the dub is annoying, so that didn't help haha)
Decent series, but definitely not my favorite. Although, I really liked the art. :D

Ga-rei-zero ... I don't know what can I say about this anime set apart the fact it's a brilliant. The story is just beautiful, the graphics are beautiful too.
It is sad that it is an anime little known.
