This anime yuri involves a girl named Nagisa Aoi who is attending her fourth year at St. Miator Academy for Girls located in Astraea Hills. She is overwhelmed with the joy and beauty of the school but her thought is interupted when she trips and falls down a hill and becomes lost. She starts looking to find out where she is when she runs into an older student named Shizuma Hanazono. She happens to be an Etoile for Astraea Hill who has important duties that she must follow and fullfill. Nagisa is overcome by her beauty and faints when Shizuma kisses her on the forehead. She passes out and wakes up in the school's infermary.

This anime focuses on the relationships that Nagisa builds with her classmates and focuses on girl-girl relationships throughout the school.

This is probably one of the better yuri animes that I have seen and I enjoyed it. This is based off of the manga "Strawberry Panic!" which includes more graphic and detailed scenes than the anime. It was also made into a visual novel in 2006 for Playstation 2.

I actually started watching SP and didn't know it was a yuri. And then when I did watch it I think it had a different effect on me, in that, for me... well... I think it's kind of a cool show. I do like it and acknowledge it's flaws like some plot points were shown enough or animation could've been much better, but I've got a soft spot for it anyways. It's not the best show ever but as yuri goes it's nice, I do like when they do focus on relationships more so though rather than certain other themes. The drama working in with it all is fitting, a bit cliché, but it works well and knows what it is enough to not try and do something else. I'd recommend it to mostly people that do like yuri over regular anime watchers but who knows you might dig this too.

SP was the first (and best, I suppose) yuri anime I've seen. I don't think I've watched all the episodes, though. Not sure if I should continue the series.
