Adventure Time (initially titled as Adventure Time with Finn and Jake; still used in the related merchandise) is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward and produced by Frederator Studios for Cartoon Network. The series focuses on the adventures undertaken by two best friends, Finn the human boy and Jake the dog with magical powers, who dwell in the Land of Ooo. The series is based on a short produced for Frederator's Nickelodeon animation incubator series Random! Cartoons. After the short became a viral hit on the Internet, Cartoon Network picked it up for a full-length series that had a preview on March 11, 2010 and officially premiered on April 5, 2010. The series has been a critical and commercial success, receiving generally positive reviews. This series is rated TV-PG. In December 2011, Cartoon Network announced that Adventure Time will be airing new episodes at 7:30/6:30C on Monday nights starting January 2012, instead of 8/7C, which was the time slot for Adventure Time since the premiere of the show.

This show has some of the best comedic writing I've ever seen, most of the time when an episode finishes, I sit back and think, "Man...that was genius." This is one of the few things that I don't hate about Cartoon Network right now... Ice King is one of the greatest characters I've ever seen lol, and his back story is SOGODDAMNSAD. In any case... It's Adventure Time.

I love this show. All the other kids at my highschool find it anoying but my older college friends enjoy it too. THIS SHOW IS AWESOME i always smile when it comes on. It's witty and innocent at the same time. Finn is all i ever wanted to be when i was a little kid. I want to live in the land of ooo and live in a cartoon and have a shape shifting dog and kick ass as a hobby.

Four words: Marceline the vampire queen.

Adventure Time is probably the best show I have ever seen.

my favorite part about this show is how the endings defy expectation. a key example is the ending of the episode "The Limit" where you expect Finn to give up wishing for the psychic tandem war elephant to save Jake, but instead he wishes for the elephant and the elephant saves Jake! that unconventional ending was one of my favorites of all time because generally in kids shows the protagonist has to give up or lose whatever object/powers/opportunities they gain earlier in the episode to learn some sort of lesson, but this time around it was pure epic win!

Okay. I started watching this about a month ago. I found that it was the most stupid, YET MOST ENTERTAINING show I have ever seen in my life. Also, there are hidden morals and such inside the show. Like, how the world became how it is. In one of the episodes , they mention how the world was changed after the "Great Mushroom War". And, what do explosions from an atom bomb look like? MUSHROOMS!

Good show. The characters seem very approachable, and the show's lighthearted moments really are enjoyable. The comedy keeps the show silly, and really makes it a great show that people can just sit down and enjoy from time to time.

Adventure Time is, in my opinion, the best kids' show since Spongebob.

For all the longer this has been here, I never stated what I had heard about the backstory to this show!

So at first I thought the place existed as a post-nuclear radiated version of Earth, with all the existing traces of our modern world scattered around and trashed in the background and it's inhabitants mutated into these strange creatures, and after watching the whole Christmas special (it explained that Ice King was once a human archaeologist who discovered a crown that made him forget who he was and become immortal. He also had a girlfriend of the same occupation, to which he called "his princess") I was sure that was it.

I thought I had it all figured out, but then a friend came up to me and explained it. I have no idea what his source was, but it sounded legit.

He told me I was half correct. The "land of Ooo" was a postmodern Earth, but it wasn't a mutated creation of nuclear fallout. It was a product of an experiment run by the military where a machine could create real things out of the imagination of living people. Fearing that any person testing the machine would imagine something dangerous and manipulative, they chose a different kind of test subject, a little girl. The machine worked, but it couldn't be stopped. The entire world was reformed by the imagination of the child, forming the interpretations of the girl's mind. Good, evil, culture, science, living inanimate objects and tons and tons of princesses. There were only a few things left unaltered by her mind, which were either picked up as a curiosity to Earth's new inhabitants, or left to rot in shambles upon the place it had been used for so long.

My mind exploded.

Okay...I don't mean to sound like a jerk....But this friend of yours is completely wrong. The show was actually CREATED as a post-apocalyptic cartoon. There was no involvement of this "military test" in Pendleton Ward's concept. Please, don't take that the wrong way, but your friend is completely and SHAMEFULLY wrong.

As well as Otanashi, Adventure Time is my FAVOURITE show because it has the randomness that makes you smile, toucing moments and songs (marcy) that make you want to cry and somehow you still manage to relate to Finn in the challenges he faces.

Basically, this show practically saves Cartoon Network, now it's one of the only shows I'll probably watch on there besides any of the old ones. At first I really hated it just like some other person who wouldn't understand unless they got into it just a little bit more. I thought it was stupid, the art was terrible, and my first impression was just god awful. But a while later I heard about some of the other plots and everyone was hyping on all about it I decided to give it a chance and well what do you know. Best show On Cartoon Network I've seen. I looked more into the art, plot, and setting and story behind it all. If no one really explains what Adventure Time really is then they won't get into it and their mind won't be changed and think it's just new crap Cartoon Network just made up. Even one of the episodes made me cry! I'm glad I realized how amazing this show is, the art, the character development, references and everything!

I love this show sooo much! My all time favorite episodes are the one's where Marcelline sings. The musical episodes are pretty awesome. "I Remember You" actually succeeded in making me cry, which almost never happens.

I feel like I'm about 2 years late for this, but I started watching this (season by season) a couple of weeks ago, and, as much as it surprises me to say so, it's probably now one of my favourite shows ever.

God it's so good.

It really has gone down hill recently and I don't have any plans to start watching the series again.

I've gotta know. Who's cooler Marceline the vampire queen or Marshall Lee the vampire king.

The only episodes that were really but really really good were the episodes that Marceline showed up. I think they are the episodes with the best plot and jokes.

Yeah, I watch Adventure Time a lot with my younger sister, and we both love it. It's a mix of funny, and just plain bizarre. I know a lot of Adults don't get the topics and themes, but lots of kids are able to link with it and just find it genuinely funny. I met the voice of Finn, Jake & Princess Bubblegum at the start of the year, and they are all amazing and funny people. And they were able to transfer that across to the TV show. Overall, it's an amazing TV show, but doesn't fit to everyone's taste.
Personally though, I love it.

Adventure Time is probably one of the best Western animations out there right now, not only for its ability to interest both kids and adults, but its complex themes and loveable characters. Personally Lemongrab and the Ice King are my favourites :3

I just watched the season finale for season 6, and it was great. Many people say that it's anti-climatic, but I think the show is diverting our attention. The comet most likely is not gone, Finn is like the son of the creator, or something. His dad is another mode of existence. Martin is a wad. He went with the comet to go on endlessly. Betty is an insane wizard, and we know what happened to MM. I liked him as a jerk... PB is no longer princess, but maybe they will dive into that more. Also, I don't think Orgalorg is dead. Just needs to come back. I wonder what going to happen with the Ice King. Besides what we already know.

The latest things with Golb, the Linch, and stuff has me excited. It seems like there are now more powerful 'evil' beings than 'good' ones.

So, Finn chooses to go through the life cycle. By the way, he's already sixteen!! Time passes by quickly.

For some reason, I hope there is a sad ending to AT. The main reason I don't think everything is good, and done for is the Lemonhope episode part 2. Everything was desolate, and destroyed. I want to see a war.

Another thing about the Linch's dream. Anybody pay attention to that? Comet boy, destroyed Earth, and whatnot. Another thing, they, the candy people, were talking about mutated kids, and how PB made them, and stuff. Of course, PB might be a bit controlling, but she loves them all the same, Even when she's experimenting on them.

About Bubblegum's death. In 'Mortal Recoil' you can see Jake holding PB's crown, Finn holding her sweater(?), and IK is crying the hardest out of all of them. Not to say the others like her less than the IK.

Thank you for reminding me. I forgot all about Finn returning her pendant in the past lives episode. I hope they expand on the Lemonhope future thing.

Another thing I forgot to type. I wonder if the Koala thing that Martin betrayed will show up again. Perhaps I'm thinking too much since I doubt it can get revenge, seeing Martin's situation, and all.

So, I'm guessing that beard with the crown, and jewels may be Betty although I highly doubt it. A lot of people were saying that it may be Gunther/Orgalorg, but I don't think it's him either. Ugh, who is it?! If it was already shown, and you know please tell me.

Finn probably has Thalassophobia. Well, in the case of oceans only.

I remember what I need to mention!
The candy people aren't dead, or anything! In Graybles 1000+, it is shown that they were in these things beings protecting inside of the Gumball Guardians! Now, this leads me to suspect that, of course, Princess Bubblegum may have known that something was going to happen, and saved the candy people. It even showed the destruction of everything. This episode showed the present, and future in one episode! It showed, at least hinted at, Finn, and Jake being dead by now. Their tree was shown, and it's pretty tall. Just like the Lemonhope episode. Come on, 1000 years into the future? They're dead. They clearly showed us a lot. I'm so excited!

Also, Starchy knew things were going on in the candy kingdom. He escaped! Well, he's dead now, but he escaped. Let's not pretend. While PB does indeed love the candies, no matter how much she experiments on them, she's an obsessive ruler. Which isn't a bad thing considering what would happen if she wasn't the leader. Anyways, I don't know how Starchy knows, but in previous episodes, we do see him suspicious of things going on. That tooth tracker thing was pretty odd, also.

I know somewhere here I was saying something about Betty finding a cure for the Ice King. Yeah...I doubt that's going to happen. Betty is crazy now, point one. Secondly, without the crown IK would die. He was around with Marceline when she was child (after the destruction of the war), and in that episode, it states that the crown is keeping him alive. So, even if he could somehow become sane, he would die.

This is another reason why the finale of season six is just fooling us, or trying to at least. Why would PB have a reason to do this if everything is fine, and dandy. Plus, the Linch has not made his re-appearance. He is going to attempt to get his wish sooner than later hopefully. I want to see things go down, but then I remember this show is still considered a kid's show... I just want it to be a little more serious. I want to see AT's potential shine! But, sadly, this might not happen.

I put the Lemonhope song on loop. I guess I just love to torture myself.

There is so much more I want to discuss, but that would be a very long post, I'm sure.

Considering that I put a lot of effort into posting a bunch of things here, I would like for it not to sink too low. That's why I'm doing the incredible thing called bumping.

I wonder if there's anyway for betty to be normal again. I really like her quest in searching for a cure for IK. What if they like distribute IK magic into half, would he regain his senses for a bit? They never really explained much what happened during the war. How pb was created. Or how did she make the candy people. How did humans nearly became extinct. Or the fact that finns mother was never shown. They did show her but it was like in other dimension where people still exist. I'm not really sure though, I didn't watch every single episode.

It's also theorized that the human civilization became extinct because of the comet, or during the Great Mushroom War. In nearly all AT episodes, you see left overs of human devices. That is proofs of there existence, but now we need proof of how they were defeated.

Yeah, from what I remember, it wasn't exact;y explained how PB made the candy people, but I suppose at this point they don't need to. In some episodes we see her making clones of candy people, but how she originally created them was never shown.

Also, thanks for keeping this conversation up with me so far. I would mourn if no one else had an interest in AT.

So, I've been thinking. Maybe the comet wasn't a complete diversion. I'm not saying that issue is destroyed, but perhaps it's done for now. I know I stated that with the Lemonhope episodes, that couldn't possibly be the end, and I stand by my argument. But, what about the Great Mushroom War? With PB out of ruling, there is no proper leader for the citizens of Ooo, and the Linch is slowly, but surely breaking out of his container.

Of course, as I said the candy people are most definitely not dead because of the Graybles 1000+ episode, and the title is highly suggesting one thousands years later. That still points to Pb being able to do something. But, it also suggest that everything went terribly wrong, and that was her last defense for her people. And, PB isn't immortal. She may even be dead.

She truly does care for the candies.

Okay, so I know the fanbase for this show has shrunk quickly, but has anyone seen the newest episodes centered around Marceline?! I'm just catching up because I was watching Gravity Falls instead at first, but now I'm getting back to the original cartoon that got me into T.V once more.

finally someone noticed season 7. The mini series is awesome by the way, especially the song. Its stuck in my head for days now. Someone please put duct tape in my mouth or I'll start singing it again.

I heard the opening, and fell head over heels. I really enjoy the idea of a mini-series for Marceline,but, unfortunately, I'm only on the second episode...I'll catch up sooner or later.

Ahh. I met Heidi Walch, the voice actress of princess bubblegum, at a comicon convention. Her voice is actually naturally high and soft. She was so sweet!

Adventure Time was a huge part of my childhood. The 10th and the final season ended emotionally on September 3, 2018 with a positive review from the audience. But we're lucky to be able to meet our heroes again on four-special episodes that will be available for streaming on HBO Max starting June 25th. Don't miss this out if you wanna feel that nostalgia again!
