Lucky Star's story mainly portrays the lives of four Japanese girls attending a Japanese high school. The setting is mainly based on the city of Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture.[3] The main character is Konata Izumi, an athletic and somewhat intelligent (however lazy), but also mischievous girl who, despite these attributes, is not in a sports club and has to resort to all-nighter cramming for tests. She would rather read manga and play video games than do her homework.

Lucky Star is a hilarious anime to watch. I really do recommend you watch it especially since the conversations these girls have(mainly Konata) are funny. Plus there's plenty of anime, manga, and video game references in the show(again mainly brought up by Konata or her dad). Although there's nothing too special about the show(except the opening theme) I believe it's worth watching. :)

The first time I saw Lucky Star was one of the most bizarre experiences of my life. It was girly, pointless, and overall weird. Needless to say, I loved every minute of it.

I'd say it'd be better to watch this series after you've become well aquainted with anime culture. There are a ton of references that'll go right over your head if you don't. It's an absolutly hilarious series overall, and I personally love it. X'3

Oh lol, I loved this show. The part where that police officer lady started driving like a madman and some random guy watching is just like "INCREDIBLE!" I laughed as hard as I would during a Gintama episode!

But yes, it does have alot of references that may go over your head. I rewatched it a couple months ago and laughed my ass off at stuff I never even payed attention to the first time.
