Synopsis: This psychological thriller, based on the manga written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno, is about Yuki, a loner who's not very good with people. He prefers to write a diary on his cell phone and talk to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina – The God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is more than a figment of his imagination when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royale with eleven others. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to survive until there is only one left standing. The winner will become the new God of Time and Space.

At first I confess I thought it would suck plus it's not the kind of anime I usually watch ... but the thing is that - unexpectadly - I love Gasai Yuno(the one in the image)! And the idea of the diaries is interesting too.

I actually just read this entire series; is the anime completely out yet? And how far is the anime if not (so I can discuss and not spoil lol)

It's a really creative series, for sure! Though after 'certain events' I started to hate Yuno. Akise is freakin adorable though! x3

I have to agree it's creative even though at first I thought it was kind of nonsense. I think the name "Deus ex machina" sounded too weird for me(maybe because "god" in portuguese is said "deus"). I don't know how to explain it hahahhaha

I am a firm supporter of Yuno, even after reading the entire series. That your love of her wavered due to those minor events disgusts me in ways I cannot even fully comprehend.

Throughout the manga experience, I constantly felt disgusted by Yuno, but in the final.. I kind of warmed up to her. I don't know why I did that! But I have no regrets...
Akise is my overall favourite though. He's so mysterious, even if *SPOILER CLOUD*.

Unfortunately, I have not read the final volume. You see, I bought the manga as it was being released by Tokyopop. As you may know, Tokyopop is no more. The company collapsed before they were able to release that one... last... volume...

To the story: I think the story is very nice but after some time you get bored of Yukki who is always and always crying. Because of Yuno I know now some more ways of killing XD
Really like the animation and the manga is well drawn too.
The drawing in the manga is nothing special but it is nice. And i love the two-sides-pages ;)

This manga was a manga suggested by a friend and this was pretty much her first manga and she loved it, so I gave it a chance and fell so deep into the story that I didn't even care that I had Homework, it was the most thrilling, mind blowing manga that I had read at the time, it still is good til this day and it left me impressed at the fact that my friend, a noob, could suggest something so good, as for the anime, I didn't want to watch it yet because it's something I want to savor, personal opinion a 8.75/10 with a re-reading possibility of medium :) Don't let my score take it the wrong way, it's still a good read and hopefully like everyone else is saying, a must watch.

I just finished watching it and I have to say this is one of the best anime ive seen period. It was entertaining, mind boggling, wtf, and in the end most touching anime ive ever seen. The plot line does develop slowly in the middle but it really is the clam before the epic plot twists and action packed last 10 or so episodes. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Yuno and Yuki, some might hate it but i love it! At first its really shallow but then at the end really turns into real love in the final scene. Their last scene was one of the touching moments ever. I would have to give it a 8.5 or 9/10 maybe ill bump it to 9/10. It was really good lots of action and pure fun :)

I think the fact that the God is name "God from the Machine" will confuse me a little.

Hey this is for people who saw that last scene after the credits in the anime and want to know more but haven't read the manga.

What happens is the Murmur from World 1 who is stuck in world 3 gives Yuno from World 3 all of World 1's Yuno's memories; effectivly transforming her into World 1 Yuno.
They then manage to break down the barriers between the worlds (With a hammer somehow) and reach World 2 where Yukki is located. Unfortunately they get the timing off and arrive 10000 years later. Yukki then travels with Yuno back to world 3 and Deus, still in need of a successor makes both of them God so that they may rule together. The last page in the manga shows them running over mountains and Yuno asks Yukki:
"So what do you want to do first?" Yukki then replies
"Lets go see the stars!" And yeah, then it ends.
Only discovered that recently so hope it helps.

Unfortunately I've only read the first manga but I laughed it, my girlfreind loved the anime until the 3rd season I think she said.

Amazing show....love the ending.....gasai yuno is one of the best developed characters ive seen...well worth watching...6 stars out of 5

I really Love Mirai Nikki........and Mirai Nikki: Another world ....( Live action drama of Mirai Nikki )......their stories are not the same....in the drama it's more like Yuno's really protecting Yukki..and they're comatose with the other players....

I'm pretty disappointed with the way the series ended.

It felt like a cop-out, as if they gave up writing it halfway through.

Also, there's one plot hole that really bothers me, early on in the series, Yukkii opened the sliding door in Yuno's house and Deus freaked out, saying that it completely changed the future. But then they didnt really re-visit that idea very much. It did change the future; it led to the discovery of Yuno's previous experience as a God, but other than that it wasn't as drastic a change as Deus made it seem.

Nevertheless, I'm really happy that Yuno and Yukkii found a way to be together forever in the end.
