well i never watch fullmetal alchemist in anything but the dub, but i guess you already know it's good. baccano also has a brilliant dub, and if you haven't seen it you should. another one that comes to mind is samurai champloo. its just so much funnier with steve blum as mugen. if i think of any more i'll be back. nothing wrong with a good dub.

3 Name: Saiba Gorameshi : 2011-10-11 21:31 ID:uNH5H87u [Del]

hey thanks bro! Yeah fullmetal was great i watched brotherhood. Baccano is one of my fav's. I remember seeing a few episodes of samurai champloo i will definitely rewatch. Thanks again!

4 Name: panda adventure c(^x^c) : 2011-10-12 07:18 ID:EPGihO3A [Del]

full metal is the greatest!!!!! I was sad cuz they ended the season.... but his shortness will live on!!!!:)

5 Name: ame : 2011-10-12 19:49 ID:UNwTMdMB [Del]

fullmetal alchemist was a very good dub! Vic Mignogna did an awesome job with Edward!!!

6 Name: RedRoses2 !Qtt0pNhTFE : 2011-10-12 22:36 ID:mleoW5gX [Del]

I also back the suggestion of Fullmetal Alchemist.

But I also really like the dub of Ouran High School Host Club, Baccano, and Axis Powers Hetalia (Your Mileage May Vary).

7 Name: MasterGatherer : 2011-10-12 23:02 ID:CFsTzt68 [Del]

Besides Fullmetal, there's Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Durarara, and like RedRoses2 said Axis Powers Hetalia. Also certain episodes of Trigun. It's a bit hit and miss with the dubbing for that one.

8 Name: Irk !Y7kBtlCaVo : 2011-10-13 00:54 ID:jtnyeRZC [Del]

I recommend you stay away from dubs.
Get used to subs. Most shows don't even get dubbed, so you'd be missing out on a lot. Lots of really good shows never get released in North America at all.

9 Name: Mael !hefBVEyOUs : 2011-10-13 01:00 ID:xihLltrb [Del]

Don't completely stray from dubs, cuz some are fucking awesome. But like Irk said, not getting used to subs if you love anime means your missing out on ALOT of badass shows...

10 Name: king!t/EiDKL3Do : 2011-10-13 03:34 ID:EVVCspWA [Del]

extremists are never good to listen to. staying away completely would be bad, but like they said, you will miss out on a lot.

so yeah dubs are good, dubs are great, but sometimes good shows get bad dubs, and a lot of times they don't get dubs at all. you can even constantly pause the show to read them if you need to.

11 Name: Batora : 2011-10-13 05:58 ID:1yoy5pXN [Del]

Code Geass had a great dub (IMO at least). First watched it in dub, then got a hold of a subbed copy and to me they're about equal (although dubbed Nunnally....OH LAWD)

From what I've heard of the Spice and Wolf dub, it's decent at best.

There aren't really many of good dubs I've seen/heard.
I've had some people tell me the Angel Beats dub is decent though.

12 Name: charisma : 2011-10-13 16:27 ID:QOPZjmKy [Del]

Dubbed Geass is indeed solid work. Plus (getting into semantics here) the dubbed version was always more logical if you're familiar with the story. Why would Britannia (equivalent to America) take over japan, but speak their language? Never makes sense when you think about it.

13 Name: Sejin !PKt//nzxc2 : 2011-10-14 19:53 ID:+3DtcXdW [Del]

Anymore I think there's more and more anime with good dubs, since the dubbing studios have spent more time on it.

>>1 Are you looking for good dubbed anime, or good dubs? And yes, there is a difference lol.

>>11 I really like the Spice and Wolf dub, especially Holo and the interplay between her and Lawrence.

Hmmm...for good dubbed anime, I'd say...well...there's a lot. Yu Yu Hakusho, GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka; the dub for that is one of the funniest I've ever heard), Midori Days, Rurouni Kenshin, Chobits, Trigun, Baka and Test, Darker than Black, G Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team, Negima!?, Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple, anything Miyazaki, etc. etc. There's A LOT of good dubbed anime out there.

Now, as far as good dubs, as opposed to good dubbed anime, there are fewer IMO, but still a lot. Beck MCS (I'd have put this in the first list, but all of my friends, save one, who have seen it have thought it's boring), Soul Eater (this also can go in the first list), Solty Rei, and there are probably a few more I can't think of right now.

You should also know that I have quite a bit more tolerance for those voices that a lot of people find unbearable, such as Solty from Solty Rei, or some of Greg Ayres' work where he sounds a bit more squealy (like Negima!?).

14 Name: Mael !hefBVEyOUs : 2011-10-15 01:31 ID:xihLltrb [Del]

Best dub ever? Golden Boy... Hands down. All because of that main character.

15 Name: Pidgey : 2011-10-15 01:41 ID:a3bLCduP [Del]

You should watch dubbed Higurashi.
Because it's totally not mentally scarring or anything >:D

16 Name: Seika Chugo : 2011-10-15 13:19 ID:m6j2uBQ+ [Del]

>>15 OMG WHAT ARE YOU SAYING
RENA'S VOICE MADE MY EARS BLEED TT^TT
-though it is a good series, and you should check it out, but Rena's voice gives me such a headache lol. And this is coming from someone who likes dubs.-

17 Name: Mayanne : 2011-10-15 21:03 ID:B3IdNu+M [Del]

I would say DRRR but you've already seen it. xD
ummmmm... Fruits Basket was a good dub!

18 Name: Hanabi Hyuuga : 2011-10-15 21:54 ID:ct5DvwxX [Del]

a few good dubs are Ouran High School Host Club, Black Cat, Black Butler, Clannad, Naruto, D. Gray-Man (but only for have of series), Highschool of the Dead, Soul Eater, Case Closed, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball,(which i thought was a lot better then dragon ball z but you should watch both) and Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood (i didnt think that the original FMA was all that good) there you go. i hope this helped always here to help when people are lost on animes to watch :)

19 Name: Suki : 2012-02-08 10:10 ID:aIzhX530 [Del]

To me D gray man Has been a good dub so far

20 Name: sleepology !CHs4eVJ3O2 : 2012-02-08 10:11 ID:NnISqQCM [Del]

...

21 Name: Cyclone : 2012-02-08 16:14 ID:/4OYpycr [Del]

Eureka Seven is a great series with a great dub, although its a bit shaky in the beginning... Basically anything dubbed by Bang Zoom is good!

22 Name: Komuro : 2012-02-09 01:32 ID:jpj2MHJH [Del]

But dubbed kills all emotion and humor in an anime... :/ American voice actors suck... So bad...

23 Name: Shinjo : 2012-02-09 01:49 ID:qh0asn6q [Del]

All dubbing is lame except in kids anime.
It ruins the total and beautiful feel of it.

24 Name: sleepology !CHs4eVJ3O2 : 2012-02-09 03:18 ID:RwzeQP2H [Del]

>>22 not all

25 Name: Baka ni Baka : 2012-02-09 18:11 ID:i3G7M/wh [Del]

>>24
Agreed....
some animes are dubbed well. Cowboy bebop dubbed was on par of the original while Big O was not bad either. There are good and bad dubbs

26 Name: Daichi : 2012-02-09 18:27 ID:s5uBYNfD [Del]

I'd chime in more, but a lot of the titles I'd recommend...have already been said! lol (FLCL, Trigun, Baccano, Fullmetal Alchemist...)

I would also speak up for Last Exile, which has an excellent cast of dub voices and a fun story, and is available on Netflix. Also, I've only watched the dub of TTGL, so I don't know how it compares to the subs, but the show is too awesome to miss anyway.

27 Name: Scatter : 2012-02-09 19:23 ID:P2lDwWpF [Del]

<<22,23 their are plenty of good dubbed anime i have no idea what you guys are tslking about. i find some dubs that are better than subs and vice versa

28 Name: Ladd Russo : 2012-02-09 19:59 ID:vLLTF+Zf [Del]

Baccano, RIGHT NOW!

if u like durarara, then you will love baccano

29 Name: Mg1210 : 2012-02-09 20:18 ID:qZXZFVbn [Del]

Hm...Death Note was pretty good in english (well most voices were),Fruits Basket,Ouran Highschool Host Club,uh....that's all I can think of @_@

30 Name: sleepology !CHs4eVJ3O2 : 2012-02-09 20:42 ID:ZJPOgN3j [Del]

Fruit basket was not .-.

31 Name: KingZeoX : 2012-02-10 19:26 ID:Fk/DZDax [Del]

Aside from the 30,000 FMA recommendations...
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
- Shakugan no Shana
- Angel Beats! (Most will complain about some voices, but there's really nothing wrong with it. It's that thing where you can't adjust to the dub after listening to the subs cast)
- The Bandai dub of K-On! is great
- The World God Only Knows (Only voice with any issues is only in episode 1 and you'll never see her again. The rest is solid)
- Spice and Wolf
- Soul Eater
- Cowboy Bebop (Set the bar for dubbing anime)
- Princess Tutu has a perfect dub for what it is (Don't ask how I know that... I'm not a creeper, I swear)
- As a whole, Clannad was dubbed well. Nagisa especially

32 Name: Echo !V1l9Amc90Q : 2012-02-12 11:10 ID:b4jqmJzG [Del]

Anything That is in the Mobile Suit Gundam Metaverse .. preferably from after 95 aka Wing and After (Not that I am saying before that wasn't good, all the gundam shows and movies are good)

Soul Eater
Broken Blade
Full Metal Panic
Blue Exersist
07 Ghost
Martian Successor NADESICO
Eureka 7 and Anything from Studio Bones
High School Of the dead
Gurren Lagann
Lucky Star
Star Driver
Macross 7

I could Go on all day on what animes I recommend People should watch

33 Name: Sakana : 2012-02-12 11:45 ID:PvqiQTPW [Del]

I used to be just like you watching dubs only... So I picked up some good ones along the way.

-Ookiku Furikabutte (Big Windup) It's a tactical baseball anime which may seem kind of boring but the character development and voice acting is excellent.

-Ghost Hunt which is an anime about some young paranormal specialists and their cases. I suggest watching this one at nighttime or in the dark to get the full effect >:) It gets scarier as the series concludes. An excellent choice for the dubbing except one character has one of those bad fake sounding Australian accents, but you get used to it.

I am also going to recommend Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ouran Highschool Host Club like a lot of other people did.

Oh and DO NOT watch Honey and Clover... It's all perfectly fine until they introduce the girl who is supposed to be 18 but sounds and looks 4...

34 Name: mechfanboy : 2012-03-06 08:27 ID:3uqpio3V [Del]

I recommend Gurren Lagann, Full Metal Panic!, and Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Oh yes, and also Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

35 Name: The Mighty Kamina : 2012-03-06 08:31 ID:QK0ICfhP [Del]

I recommend Clannad, Angel Beats, Air Gear, and Gurren Lagann.

36 Name: Lun-Lun : 2012-03-06 18:02 ID:Ro6t0P1d [Del]

Neon Genesis Evangelion (The original as well as the remade movies 1.11 and 2.22) End of Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, D.Gray.Man, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (When the Higurashi Cry), Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, Fate/Stay Night, Soul Eater, Gundam Seed Destiny (As well as the original Gundam Seed), Elfen Lied, DRRR and Ghost in the Shell (Stand Alone Complex and Second Gig)

37 Name: Lakota : 2012-03-06 18:38 ID:UZ/7hEki [Del]

Death Note, Black Butler, Code Geass, Angel Beats, Black Cat, Hiruashi, Durarara, Devil May Cry, Soul Eater, Vampire Knight, and Darker than Black
*Theres a lot of really good animes in sub as well*

38 Name: Tsuyoi Ishi : 2012-08-20 19:22 ID:P/cgr2XM [Del]

>>37 Angel Beats! was a good anime/dub. I don't know why people thinks it's a bad dub it wasn't all that bad.

Code Geass was kinda annoying because of Johnny playing the voice as Lelouch and playing the voice of half of the anime's I seen.

Devil may cry can kiss my ass. I never like the anime, the games are better even though the 5th DMC sucks. With the stpry and all. I'm not even gonna start with Soul Eater, Vampire knight and DTB. XD

>>32 Eureka 7 was good but I think Deadman Wonderland was better. But I can never find a website where I can watch Blue Exersist it looks so good. :D

39 Name: Tsuyoi Ishi : 2012-08-20 19:24 ID:P/cgr2XM [Del]

>>38 I meant to say half of the main character's Johnny plays as. I swear every anime I watch he's in it. I'm already blown out because of hearing Ichigos voice every Saturday.

40 Name: Rio : 2012-08-21 14:12 ID:LZ8N8xH/ [Del]

oohhh definitely eureka 7, love that show

41 Name: Ram : 2012-08-22 10:50 ID:x5A86T8+ [Del]

Go for Baccano! It's my favorite dub. You can tell that a lot of work was put in to it. The original light novels Durarara!! and Baccano! are written by the same person. You'll be able to see similarities between plot structure and pacing. Not to mention that baccano is one really awesome show.

42 Name: Daigo : 2012-08-23 11:35 ID:iVNnhq2N [Del]

I don't care. i can watch whatever the hell i want. Dubbed or subbed whatever the cost.

I Dare you to watch Ranma 1/2. and HUNTER X HUNTER (since 2011 has already started and eventually gets dubbed sooner or later.)

You'll never know what gets dubbed.

43 Name: Em !1PZuOSuEBg : 2012-08-23 13:42 ID:gSUNfDD+ [Del]

Hetalia and Baccano! had especially good dubs. The Japanese versions don't even compare, IMO. It makes sense, though, considering both of these have characters with exaggerated accents that wouldn't quite sound right in Japanese.

44 Name: Hall : 2012-08-23 22:39 ID:IcZhcW5G [Del]

I may be insane for this but.....

you should realy watch Nabari No Ou or Black butler, just some of my personal favorites.

45 Name: hardcore : 2012-08-24 11:06 ID:iL9MycA3 [Del]

mushi-shi, it's a cool show with interesting stories.

46 Name: Count_Duckula !u5KL.jOOCU : 2012-08-24 12:03 ID:rjaQWb6/ [Del]

I've been watching Black Lagoon and been very impressed with the dub so far. The main characters done by Light off Death Note, if you're looking for a familiar voice.

47 Name: Akira !TbtN1ov/L2 : 2012-08-25 07:52 ID:s0wck9O6 [Del]

FMA,Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), Ouran High School HOst Club, Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, The Wallflower, and Soul Eater! those are all really good dubs!

48 Name: RiuChan : 2012-08-25 16:50 ID:KMKUQUSC [Del]

Case Closed is a good dubbed series, however it's really long. :D

49 Name: Cowboy Bebop : 2012-08-25 16:52 ID:Q4183U4O [Del]

One of the best dubs of all time. It has some of the most likable characters of all time, a fantastic jazzy soundtrack, and utter epicness. IT IS A MUST WATCH FOR ANY ANIME FAN.

50 Name: Sixclaw Sixto !4CNblaw9mI!!XI8GEi6V : 2012-08-25 19:10 ID:7lZCNoe5 [Del]

I don't really see the difference from bad dubbed anime and good dubbed anime. I mean, they're just dubbed anime, right?

51 Name: profZ : 2012-08-28 03:49 ID:OLLu8U/V [Del]

>>50
Actually dude it can make a big difference.
Take for example the anime Spice and wolf, it has a pretty awesome dub (imo) the main characters script involves a lot of witty banter and conversation, which would of been severely hampered if the voice actors refused to put any effort into Said voice acting.

Its just like with anything else that people do, you can tell the difference between people who put there all into something they enjoy, and those who do things but show a very strong lack of interest.

52 Name: Knal : 2012-08-28 12:23 ID:60Kx2Hq7 [Del]

Baccano has one of the best dubs I've ever seen. Actually, anything dubbed by Funimation, because the majority of them are great. Posting them online free to watch legally is also a plus.

53 Name: BarabiSama!!C8QPa1Mt : 2012-08-29 11:30 ID:s+VjYQdn [Del]

>>52 Not gonna lie - I don't think most of Funimation's dubs are very good. It may be a popular company, but IMO, a lot of emotion is lost in their dubs, and they always use the same voice actors. It's not really pleasant watching their dubs for me.

54 Name: Neotitan : 2012-09-02 19:31 ID:vLLTF+Zf [Del]

they use the same voice actors when its appropriate, but for the most part funimation makes great adaptations.(cept soul eater, mainly with blackstar)

and im still convinced the conveyance of emotion is always lost in translation with subs
