In the far future, humans abandon the devastated Earth and move to the upper world "Tenjo". But Tenjo and the law of causation collapse by a war and humans returns to the Earth, which has turns into an inhabitable planet except for Shinshu area.

Shinshu is too small to accommodate all the humans, so they duplicate the area and create "Juso Sekai" in a parallel world. In order to rebuild Tenjo and the law of causation, the returned humans start reproduction of the history from B.C. 10,000. When the reproduction proceeds to A.D. 1413, a war breaks out in Shinshu and Juso Sekai falls onto the original world.

The humans living in Juso Sekai lose their land and invade the original world. People in Shinshu surrender and the land is divided by the invaders from Juso Sekai. They try to resume the history reproduction from A.D.1457, but the update of the history terminates in A.D.1648. A rumor of apocalypse begins to spread the world.

Okay maybe it's just me, but to be honest, while watching the first episode of this, I didn't really have much of an idea what was going on. All I know is that I love the main character, the fights are awesome, and they introduced WAY TOO MANY CHARACTERS... Seriously though, I felt like they smashed as much stuff as possible into the first episode, It looks like it has a pretty damn high budget, hopefully they don't royally fuck this show over cuz it's definitely got potential to be really cool.

I love this show. I really really LOVE this show!
But yes, it got me absolutely wrecking my brain to figure out what was happening and who was who or what! (Doesn't help that some characters have 2-3 names =w=|l|l) In fact, I needed the help of animebloggers to keep up with some of the question marks through the two cours.

The first 4 episodes are all prologue and they all replay the same day from four different viewpoints. I had to marathon these four eps twice while writing down characters' names to follow it through. (Japanese names man X3)

But man, this show deserves more love. The Soundtrack itself is already pure gold! Also, as the sci-fi and mecha fan I am, this show is just right up my alley with gorgeously animated fights. *w*

It's confusing because of the information overload, but also because the whole first season takes place in the span of two days or so, apparently.
(But from different characters point of view).
The pacing feels like a continuous rush because of how much they had to compress the....light novels..
(the left pile of the image)
The right pile is for before the events in Horizon takes place.

Here's the SE1 Information, with everything you'll need to know for the first half of season one!

At least no one was left out in season 2.
Wish the ln's were fully translated..

It seems most people get turned off by first appearances when it comes to this series, with its pacing, fanservice and utter information overload. But I guess the first two are bearable..

This anime is one of the most odd and confusing anime i have ever seen. yes this is even comparing it to both flcl, and humanity has declined. However it was still good enuf to watch both seasons.
