Okay so, in the same way as the Gundam thread, there are multiple versions and spin-offs of the original Digimon. So every time you introduce a new season or spin-off in this thread, please include a small description of it, and hell, a picture if ya want. Okay? Lets get started.
This is a synopsis of Digimon: Digital Monsters or Digimon Adventure, the first season.
Seven kids are transported to the Digital World, a strange place where digital creatures called "Digimon" reside. A group of Digimon soon befriend them and keep the kids out of harm's way. The children then discover they are the Chosen Children, which protect the Digital World from evil Digimon like Devimon and Vamdemon.
Oh man, this is nostalgic. I remember watching this every single day as a kid. I loved the hell out of it. In fact, I'm planning on watching the first 3 seasons all over again with a few friends soon. And I am soooo looking forward to that.
Digimon Adventure's story could be listed as a generic "Hero's Journey", where character starts off hesitant and weak, goes through adventures and guided by a wise mentor, overcomes the "abyss" which strengthens them mentally and emotionally, and eventually succeeds in the journey. This setup widely-used for a reason though, BECAUSE IT IS GOOD AT ENTERTAINING THE AUDIENCE! For older audience, some scenes may be cheesy.

When comparing the art, recall that this series was animated in 1999... Though many battle animations are reused, the overall art still can live up to many modern animes. The music for the Japanese version is....GREAT, one of the best in my opinion. What can I say, the soundtracks by Ai Maeda is truly breathtaking. Unlike many cartoons back in the days, even now, the story development is revolutionary. Each of the character "grows up" and matures so drastically Viewers will instantly pick up on their favorite characters. Anyway, If you haven't watched this, you probably should, it played a huge part in my childhood! Check it out.

Digimon Adventure 02~
A few years after the adventures of the Chosen Children in the Digital World, a new batch of Chosen Children are summoned to save the Digital World. An evil ruler known as the Digimon Kaiser, or Digimon Emperor, is forcing the Digital World's Digimon into enslavement. The new group of Chosen Children, with the help of their Digimon, then begin a journey to stop the evil Digimon Emperor.

Digimon Tamers~ (Season 3)
Takato Matsuda, Ruki Matsuno, and Lee Jenrya are children who have, by fate, recieved real Digimon, unlike the imaginary ones in the card game they play. Each of the children, or "Digimon Tamers", have their different views on how Digimon should be treated. But when other Digimon begin to appear around Japan, they must put aside their differences to fend off the digital intruders; even though Yamaki, who is the head of a secret organization called Hypnos is trying to eliminate all of the Digimon himself.

My childhood love! I was in love with Digimon when I was a kid. No BDZ, Sailor Moon, Pokemon or whatever else was on at the time could even touch my love for this show. That only applies for the first two seasons though. Gosh I remember having such a crush on T.K. haha, which is kind of weird now that I think about it, he was such a little kid in the first season.
I watched the third season a few years later than the rest, but even if it's supposed to be the most mature and whatnot one I didn't like it much. Maybe I was too old for the stuff already.

Digital Monster X-Evolution~ (Movie 8)
The Digital World had become so overpopulated that the super computer, Yggdrasil, that governed the Digital World could no longer handle it. His solution was to destroy the majority of Digimon with the X-Program. He chose a very small percentage to be moved to a new Digital World because he planned to destroy the old Digital World. Those who were not chosen but survived anyway and moved to the new world had a rare gift known as the X-Antibody, this antibody when activated changed their appearance and made them more powerful. Yggdrasil is protected by the Royal Knights, including Omnimon, Gallantmon and Magnamon, who eliminate X-Antibody Digimon (Dorumon).
