Renton Thurston is a 14-year-old boy who lived with his mechanic grandfather in a backwater town. Every day he dreamed of being with the mercenary "Light Finding Operation (LFO)" aircraft pilot group "Gekkostate" and riding "Trapar" particle waves-- a sport called "reffing"-- with their charismatic leader Holland, especially when faced with his father's acclaimed past or his grandfather's desire to protect him. When a young girl named Eureka riding the original LFO, the "Nirvash typeZERO", asks his grandfather for a tune-up, she inadvertently brings the attention of the military to the garage; as a result, the garage is destroyed and Renton is forced to deliver a new type of interface-- the "Amita Drive"-- to the Nirvash. After a heated fight in which the Nirvash destroys the military LFOs by unleashing an immense amount of power, Renton is invited into Gekkostate. However, he quickly realizes that behind the facade of a traveling group of mercenaries is a very bitter reality.

One of my favorite shows ever. From beginning to end it managed to keep me glued to the computer screen without so much as a blink of the eye. Sure, I lost my eyesight after watching the series from beginning to end due to the lack of blinking, but all I can say is; worth it, totally worth it! This anime has everything you would want, and then some! Ranging from humor, to a love story, to action/adventure, and one of my favorite's; things that deepen the plot, leaving you with so many thoughts and opinions after the series ends. With it's oh so lovable characters, awesome storyline, action, adventure, and love/feelings between the main characters and more, it is hard not to get emotionally attached... One of the most notable things about this series, in my opinion at least, is the music. I have never seen an anime series use a more amazing selection of music for the openers, endings, and throughout the series in general. They truly put it together in an indescribable fashion. The music in this series really sets the mood for each scene, whether it be emotional, or action based. They have a selection for EVERYTHING, and none of them disappoint! Definitely worth a watch, Check it out, lemme know what you think...

Time for a quick post. I love this series. I'm thinking of rewatching it. I'll post something more later, here, have a wallaper of it

I actually hated this series - Largely due to the fact that "coming of age" story or not, Renton and Holland are just shitty characters to try and identify with... And the show spends a lot of time trying to develop them.

It ruined my entire experience of an otherwise good anime when the characters it wants to throw in your face just happen to be the kind of stubborn or whiney people that you'd rather chew off your own arm before you talked to.

Talho is boss though. She makes up for everything in the series, because she keeps the entire damn gekkostate working properly. Screw Eureka, Talho is the gekkostate mom.

Definitely one of my top favorites. Renten may have irritated me at first but he got better as the series went on. I really liked Holland and the character development of both Dominic and Anemone. Hope they do more to the series even though the anime is over soon, maybe a movie that is in the same universe as the show instead of an alternate dimension.

Saw a couple eps of ergo proxy, good anime. As for Eureka seven. it was an amazing anime. Talho was cool, but how can you not relate to Renton. I was pretty sure everyone wanted more excitment in their lifE, and would like to go somewhere that your not use to, and who wouldn't wana do all that, and get down with Gekkostate, and be on the cover of Rayout? h8ers gonna h8e, jk lol

This is my favorite series period. I loved the characters who had their own little realistic quirks that many anime shows don't have. I'm a sucker for romance and this anime had it at every turn. The fights were cool, though i'm not a mecha fan. I loved Dominic and Anemone at the end. I recommend it to anyone. Also, the movie and manga are both good but they have different storylines.

My favorite characters.

Love this series sooooooooo much!! It's an amazing series and I just finished watching it for the second time a week ago. It's still great! I'm not a huge fan of mecha but the characters and their development made me fall in love with all the characters. After watching it the first time I had to own it so I bought it. And it's the only anime series I own. I even bought the CD! I plan on getting my own Gekkostate shirt made! I have all of the manga and two of the novels. I even cosplayed as Renton and one of my friends dressed as Eureka. Let's just say it was epic. I can't wait for Astral Ocean! The day I found out I went and created a wiki page for it, but I fail at creating wiki pages so if anyone wants to fix it they can. I made it my goal to spread the gospel of Eureka Seven and I've gotten 4 people to watch it... The series never gets enough love...

The ending is just...
but the coralians are so cute they don't look like they're going to kill...I just wonder why Eureka has to turn all green in the final episodes.

http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/eureka-seven-ao-episode-1-online

The story is set on Okinawa's isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year-old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao's mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao's 13-year-old childhood friend and the story's heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a "Yuta" power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young.

A mysterious entity called "Secret" suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. Ao launches a certain military FP called "Nirvash" aboard a Japanese military transport in his fervent desire to protect the island.

Okay so I finished the series last week, and even though I was a little confused from loss of a few episodes, I can admit that I loved it. Yes I cried. Yes I laughed. Yes I smiled. I loved it. And I fangirl pretty hard, but I dont thing I ever sqeaked and squelled louder than when Dominic and Anemone finally got together. Yeah I got all teary-eyed.

But all in all, I love the series. I would definetly watch it again. Forever.

I'd go on record and say that this is probably the greatest flawed anime ever. E7 was one of my first anime and everything about the world completely drew me in. It was my first experience, Death Note aside, with really heavy topics in anime, from the war, and the character's backstories and a bunch of things I don't want to spoil because I've seen this like 4 times and I can't even remember what the spoilers are, but it's just really good.

Until the end when half of it isn't explained, but even then, it's still damn fun to try and wrap the mind around.

It's a shame AO sucked.

66 Name: SQUIRCLE : 2013-08-23 00:47 ID:3vzAJu08 [Del]

I really enjoyed this anime. It was one of my first exposures, and I've watched it over and over. But personally I think this show has too many hills and valleys. One moment you cant put it down and at other times its painful to watch. Although I cant really say I like the whole mecha genre, this completely captivated my interest. Its definitely worth recommending and checking out.

P.S. If anyone has seen Mirai Nikki (Future Diary), doesn't Yuuki remind you of Renton?

67 Name: Neige !h45CN3bvL2 : 2013-08-23 10:28 ID:1eGiFoof [Del]

Here in Australia, if you don't buy an anime while it's new, chances are you're gonna have a lot of trouble finding it again in future, and this anime was a good 8 years old when I watched it. A few days ago, I managed to find this a DVD copy anime on a shelf at a (not particularly local) JB Hi-Fi store, and I fucking flipped.
This anime was one of the greatest emotional experiences of my life, and I'd been fruitlessly searching for a hard-copy for so long, and I'd long since given up when I found it, and it was awesome, and I love it, and it's perfect, and... yeah.

Yes. That is all.

Alright, though my memory's foggy so maybe I'll ask something really derpy that's obviously answerable or whatever. I think my main problem was that the end itself felt really rushed and kinda bullshit.

Spoilers below, read at own risk

---What is Earth, and how do they get there?
They went beyond the Great Wall, but they fell, so does that imply Earth is inside Kanan? (the world the rest of the show is set in)
How did the Scub Coral disappear from that planet and go to Earth? Furthermore, for all the scientific talk the second half of the show gets, the idea of Earth being inside another planet is just...wat.

---Why does Eureka turn into a fairy thing towards the end? She's a Coralion, sure, but was there any purpose to that except making her cry more and setting up unneeded angst between her, Renton, and the kids?

---Dewey's logic. Kind of justified in the fact that he's legitimately maniacal, but how does dying with a Compac in your chest trigger the control cluster(might be using the wrong term here, haven't seen it in a while, but you know what I mean) blowing up? Norb still has one and he's alive. Is it only connected to Dewey's vitals? How does that process even occur to begin with?

---How the fuck does Nirvash transform on its own and be sentient and I don't even. Yeah, it's Eureka 7 and crazy shit happens cause mechs, but they spent time in episodes earlier in the show with researchers and mechanics remodeling(?) the Nirvash to fit the situation's needs. The fact that it happens on its own again at the end due to Renton's passion and energy or whatever it was is just bullshit. If you make limits, stick to them.

That's what I could think of right now. I think my problem with it is it just got too big for its britches, and instead of throwing it all out the window at the end, parts of it were kept in continuity while others broke off cause they felt like it.

---

>>69 So just finished it (after about a month, it gets harder for me to watch as you approach the end, mostly for nostalgia reason) and noticed this 3 year old post.

Yeah, agreed. Show completely derails in the last 5 episodes or so. First time I watched it I was so emotionally invested in Renton and Eureka and their angst and stuff - I knew the ending sucked and I really didn't give a shit because I had a blast watching it.

...and now 4 years later, I can't really say that I feel any different. I still fucking love this show, despite its glaring flaws, and the first 40 episodes are (in my eyes) pretty much perfect in terms of pacing, world-building and character arcs.

In terms of overall enjoyment, this show is a 10/10 for me. More objectively, I'd probably give it a 6.5/10, mostly because of how ridiculous its ending is. Everything before episode 45 is basically perfect.
