I think this is one of my favorites. The second season put a little bit of a stain on it, but when it comes to it I mainly like to pretend that it doesn't actually exist.
Darker than Black is a solid action filled anime even if the ending was a bit muddled. And if it's one thing it has a lot of, that's style, which might be at least in part due to the great soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. I don't know, but there's just something about super powered hitmen, the mafia and their shady dealings after nightfall that's just irresistible.

i wasn't really sold on the ending, i didn't really understand it, but the rest of the series is amazing! i love how unpredictable it was, im too used to knowing which characters definitely wont die in certain anime.

I also really enjoyed Darker than Black and even DTB Gaiden was pretty good. Like Tatsinda said, the second season was where it all went wrong, except for Hei giving Brightslaps. That's fine with me. The Shikoku no Hana manga actually serves as a better continuation than season two (forgot the name of it). It's basically an extention of season one with a few good changes. I haven't read too much of it and I don't remember much, but I can remember that it was definitely better than Gemini of the Meteor (I actually decided to look up the name).

Got so confused, but once you make sense of it, then it has a pretty interesting storyline.
