The series focuses on Neuro Nougami, a demon who feeds on mysteries and puzzles, who comes to the human world to feast on the mysteries offered by humans who release negative energy from their planned crimes. As a demon, he must not make his presence noticed by the humans as it is the law in the human world. Because of this, he makes a permanent deal with Yako Katsuragi (who has her own personal mystery she has to solve), and together they solve crimes for Neuro's appetite.

I'm mainly posting this because Aya asked me to.
This show has a great concept, omg.. When i first read the synopsis i was like, "done, know what I'm watching next." So this show has the potential to be extremely badass, its really funny on occasion, and i like the way Neuro looks (aside from his stupid demon head). The beginning may throw you off, cuz at first the mysteries seem really...lame, and easy to figure out, but they over-dramatize it and make it seem like a 'bigger deal' than it really is. The only thing in the first few episodes that kept me going was how the crimes were pulled off, the methods were pretty cool. BUT it gets better later on in the series, which was a relief... I had thought i had made a mistake by episode 5 or so, but then it started to pick up. One flaw I would have to critique on is Neuro's deduction and concluding was extremely unnatural... Personally I try to solve these mysteries too as i watch along, and you could probably pick out the culprit pretty accurately, but to determine the tricks behind the murders is quite the challenge because the show tends to pass over evidence a bit too fast due to its time limit of 20min per episode, which was my main concern in the first few episodes. In any case, Check it out if your into comedies/mysteries, its worth a watch. Lemme know what ya think.

The manga finished downloading for me before the anime, and I just finished marathoning that - 200+ chapters in two days.

All I have to say after starting the anime is - God what the fuck am I watching.

It's a disappointment on so many levels.. Hell, the anime jumps in and skips almost an entire volume or more of the manga. Character relations are botched and... I don't even see Akane.

they skipped Godai's entire character arc and demoted him to a faceless supporting character. Yako and Neuro's interaction which built so much of the storyline has been replaced with generic submissive-normal-person routine.

The... The entire second episode was just filler that never happened in the manga!

I... I wish I had never pressed play. I suppose as a stand-alone, it makes a good shonen mystery gag series - And my opinions may change after I get further in - But as it stands...

god what the fuck did they do to my Majin Tantei?

And after the manga ending left such an amazing impression on me...

This is probably the only thing I've found in the anime I find of true worth.

'Dat face.
