Time of Eve or Eve no Jikan is a series of 6 shorts about 15 minutes each that that were released only on the internet for about a year or so between 2008 and 2009.

The action takes place in a not so far off in the future Japan where household androids have become common place. So one day, following his own android, Rikuo finds this hidden cafe that has an odd rule you have to follow when inside: to not discriminate between humans and robots. Each episode takes place in the cafe and usually has one of its regulars at the center, be they human or otherwise, slowly trying to send across the message that there's not such a big gap between the two after all.

I don't know how obscure or un-obscure this anime is but here goes to hoping people have seen it or will want to.

its a great series but i dont remember the episodes only being 15 minutes long

I actually plan to watch this eventually... however I get easily distracted.. Isn't there a movie as well? Or am i thinking of something else?...

I just finished watching this anime/movie and im surprised on how it really does comment on the social nature of humans and to me is an allegory relating to discrimination and separation

It ranks in my top anime. Gurren Lagann, Eden of the East, Durarara, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and Time of Eve.

My kid is going to have the weirdest selection of shows to watch.

I would really, really like a sequel though. They've built a pretty interesting universe and only explored a little piece of it. I don't know if it'll ever happen. I'd be very interested to see the bigger story.

Got around to watching the movie. Partially through it now, and I must say... Man, is this good. I forgot how great this series was.

Love it so far, I like things that a simple and short but still pull of interesting concepts.

I thought this anime was incredible. I wish there was a bit more interaction between the main character and his robot. Don't remember character names, it's been a while. But this show makes you think about everything.

Finally watched the movie tonight. Can't even remember what wasn't included in the series, but I found no faults with it. I would consider it 10/10 stuff.

btw I think Tex running into the stairs near the end was the funniest mood-breaker I've ever seen. The timing was absolutely perfect.

I could go on and on about how spectacular this series is, but no words can do this series justice. It's a very moving piece of art that should be mandatory viewing for all anime fans.

Just watched this (movie) after watching Patema: Inverted. If all of Yasuhiro Yoshiura's movies are this good, I'll be happy. I see similar styles of humor in both movies, and I like it a lot.
