Hanasaku Iroha centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old teenager living in Tokyo, who is left in the care of her estranged grandmother, following her mother's elopement with her boyfriend. Ohana arrives at her grandmother's country estate to realize she is the owner of a Taishō period hot spring inn called Kissui. She begins working at Kissuisō, at her grandmother's request, but finds herself at odds with many employees and customers at the inn. Initially feeling discouraged, she decides to use her circumstances as an opportunity to change herself for the better and to make amends with her deteriorating relationship with the Kissuisō's staff for a more prominent future. DUDE, THIS ANIME ONE OF THE BEST ANIME I EVER WATCH!!! 2011!! don't know bout u guys... give it a try^^
sounds interesting. Gj with the description too, i personally think whenever someone posts a thread about an anime they have watched they should always do that. Anywho, I'll check it out and let ya know what i think.
>>8 Yeah this is one of those laid back anime without a really serious plot. It gets boring after a while but I thought it was pretty cute towards the end. The art isn't half bad either :P
I enjoyed it for sure, but the personalities of the girls (aside from Tomoe and Ohana towards the beginning) were really predictable. There were enough derpy characters (Mr. Ren, Jiroumaru) to keep things lolsy and entertaining, but when it tried getting heavy-handed, it was often a hit-or-miss ordeal for me. I think it played at the family drama very well, but the romance parts left more to be desired.
That said, the art was gorgeous, and nano.RIPE themes are guilty pleasures of mine, so I liked it, though I don't think I'll take much from watching it.
