Alrighty everyone, Its been a while, I've been working a lot recently so its going to take me some time to complete shows I'm watching.
So, do you like vampires? I don't mean the 'new age' vampires, that sparkle in the sunlight and are fiercely romantic. I mean, Classic Vampires, where they have no reflection, they NEED to feast on human blood, and they cannot enter a house unless they have been invited. Ah...good times... Well, if i described your interests then here ya go.
During a fiercely hot summer in Sotoba, a peaceful and quiet village with a population of 1300 people, a series of bizarre deaths begin to occur. At the same time, a strange family moves into a long abandoned mansion in the region. After supposedly visiting this strange family, the fashionable Shimizu Megumi goes missing and the entire village goes out in search for her.
Shiki reminded me why i used to think vampires were cool, when they were hunters...not faggots. This classic vampire story, revolves around the city of Sotoba, which is a city, practically cut off from the outside world (perfect...). I enjoyed the art style and the OST in this series A LOT, the hair kinda bothered me on a few characters but other than that it was sick. Buck Tick did the first OP which is amazing and the second ED. The characters are all really thought out, and it really puts small town life into perspective for you. This is probably my favorite show of its genre. Give it a shot, lemme know what you think of it.

Love this anime. It kept me on edge for some parts. I also liked the first OP. (Some of the hair styles were kinda crazy...) :)

The art style was fantastic and it was definitely a relief to see original vampires used again.
Can't say I liked the ending though.

I REALLY liked this anime, I got very into it and the story was so deap and dark I just enjoyed every episode of it. Seriously a good anime I suggest everyone elss watch it too.

I never watched the anime but I've been reading the manga. It starts up really slow, but I got into it eventually. I liked the concept and the art style was cool even though I thought it was a little weird at first. I should probably watch the anime then too, right?

Damn I love this anime, definly one of my favorite animes. It's just brilliant from start to ending. If you're looking for a good thriller to watch, this is definly it! =)

bumping this, cuz i watched it again recently with a few friends... It really got me this time though, some of the shit I didn't catch before. Mainly since i started it the first time without knowing it was about vampires... :V BUT still, it was awesome again. And fuck... Megumi is the hottest vampire ever... i just hate her as a person.

It was crazy though I just sat at my screen like terrified of joshua, oh my god and dont even get me started on that old man CRAZY. However I think the person who scared me the most was that one chick how she just went on like what she was doing was just sweeping dust of the floor or like planting flowers. I do have to say though megumi got what she had coming I hated her like so much, but even I felt bad for her in the very end.

Just finished watching this awesome series. I can't believe how much I enjoyed it. Now, I caught on early, too many hints that it was vampires, but I still enjoyed it. Didn't get scared, but it did creep me out quite a bit. I thought the ending was good, and it was definitely original. You would have expected it to be a happy ending, but it was more of a sad ending. Still, I plan to watch it again at some point, probably after I buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray.
