I watched this anime, it was very interesting and one of my favorites.:D

I loved how intricate the main chararacters thought processes were. I know this anime is crazy mainstream but its one of the few that are like that for good reason.

Loved this show. I always liked to try and guess what was happening next, and Light's methods were so clever and interesting.

Death Note is an instant classic, to me. Expertly developed characters with a chessmaster complex are somewhat difficult to pull off, especially when it's the main character and "protagonist." Generally you end up with a generic antagonist or someone that's only smart because the author says they are, but the main characters' tactics against one another were ridiculously well thought out in my opinion. I may just be shallow, or easy to fool, but the point is the effect it has when you first watch it, which was profound.

I especially liked the role reversal of protagonist and antagonist. At first, by default one latches onto Light as the "good guy," but his moral dissonance slowly wears away at one's concept of good and bad. And then L is introduced. He plays off like an antagonist, someone you're supposed to dislike from the main character's perspective, but that as well gets reversed over time as you're forced to develop a liking for him as you're exposed to him for longer. Though, your mileage may vary on that one.

Just in case someone hasn't read or watched it yet though, I won't go into detail more than that. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents because I hadn't in this thread, yet.

love this show but hate how they killed L and light.other wise still an awesome anima its defiantly in my top 10

2007 killed it with death note. death note was also my First XBOX 360 Christmas when toonami lasted until a year later and i had an actual deathnote as a present for christmas. watching death note feels like 2007 again only now My XBOX is Dead. it doesnt feel like the christmas i knew with death note. it even came with Naruto Rise of a ninja BEFORE shippuden. BTW i love L.

just got my own death note love it pulse just saw the movie awesome fav was light now L. wish they could continue death note and just have a new kida but they talk about the original pair (kida and L) a lot and be connected some how.

I just finish watching the live action and it's so damn awesome ...!!! \(^o^)/

I liked it for many reasons. One of which was that I felt like the whole battle between L and Light was like an intellectual debate. They just kept one-upping each other.

The best part was the end, when Light died. Only good part in my opinion. Man, I laughed so hard.

DN is probably the best anime I have ever seen - It's so damn smart!

I found Misa annoying in the anime but after the series I could help but to start thinking that she was smarter then she acted. I mean, she thought of a way to find Light and to prove that Higuchi, so she can't be all that annoying and dumb.

The end to this anime is just so sad and predictable... I wish it was another shinigamim, or maybe the KING of the shinigami who would come and kill Light Yagami. and I expected SOMEONE to figure it out, but only 2 (or 3 if you count near's brother.) got killed through the series, I call major BS, anyone agree?

I think that you should watch Code Geass its really simular but way better. Lelouch is a much better character then light.

I absolutely LOVED Death Note! It's my absolute favorite anime EVER. Especially because it really makes you think. I've read the manga and seen the anime. I don't care for the live action movies though. I'm getting Death Note: Another Note and then hopefully getting DVDs, all the Manga, a cosplay, and a Death Note.

Am I the only one here who LOVES Mello? I just think he is totally awesome. Light was interesting and honestly, I probably would've done the same thing if I found a Death Note.

As for people hating Misa, I did too but I feel bad for her..she was used a lot, so... But this anime is EVERYTHING I value in any story. I'm even having a marathon with one of my friends tonight, haha!

In all of my opinion, L was smarter than Light Yagami. The only reason he won was possibly because of friendship clouding L's judgement and also because he had A FRICKING SUPERNATURAL WEAPON. Believe it or not there is alot of data that can be taken into account when the person commiting the crimes is actually present. Kira's weapon left no trace but the death itself. Bump.

I love both the manga and the anime! The music in the anime is especially great and I love the beginning when it shows light writing all the criminals' names in the death note XD adjfk;dsfhuidhf I love Light/Kira so much. He's so intelligent and manipulative and determined and wonderful <3 all he wants to do is make a better world, free of hate and crime. He stayed calm in every situation up until the end :/ man, that part still depresses me... just seeing the wonderful human being driven to insanity by the thought that his perfect world wold not be achieved... well he'll always be the true winner for me ^^ Kira supporters ftw!! XD (but also have a lot of respect for L, he is super smart and stays true to his beliefs no matter what <3 )

I worship this anime and manga! I love how Light started out with genuinely good intentions, but clearly went insane with his delusions by the end.

it was good up to ep 25 but after that is was very bad

one of the best animes. i know the last part wasnt as good as the first 25 episodes but still one of the best.

I think the movies are way better than the anime.

My mom likes getting into whatever stuff i like, so I started showing her Death Note. At first she loved it, but then it got to the fifth episode, she said it was too sad and refused to watch any more.

Yes, 3 movies. But the first 2 aren't exact adaptions; they changed the ending (for the better, imho)

I have come to the conclusion that Light is Moon Moon, because in Japanese his name is spelled moon, just pronounced differently, and his last name means night god. Same thing lol

This anime is really amazing, and it deserves another season.. What if Light mistook Beyond as L? He killed the wrong guy and then L came back? Nah, that's just a little logic of mine. Anyways, it really is an awesome anime/manga :D

Just definitly Death Note.. This Anime made me think about everything so much. Believe me, even your intelligence will improve just by watching this Anime. I strongly recommend this one. I have seen over 40-50 animes, But Death Note is simply the best for me.

Just finished Death Note yesterday.One of the best written animes/tv shows I've ever seen,despite the fact that after episode 25-27 everything seemed a little rushed.

Ended up finishing both the manga and the anime a while back (liked the manga better for some reason, just something about the anime rubbed me the wrong way, liked it though just not as much as the manga) Absolutely loved this series, Loved the intereaction between L and Light and Light's whole "I shall become God of the new world" thing. But...well it didn't really seem as if Light had been punished properly for his crimes (this is excluding the alternative end, want to know about it? Look it up, I ain't be called for spoilers)

I remember trying to work through every bit and bob of logic in that show, getting a headache, and crying at the feels when like literally everything happens.
