The world of Ao no Exorcist consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible.
However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. Satan is the god of demons, but there's one thing that he doesn't have and that's a container in the human world that is powerful enough to hold him!
For that purpose, he created Okumura Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans, or will he become something else...? After killing Rin's guardian Father Fujimoto in an attempt to bring Rin back to the Demon world, it led to Rin's journey on becoming an Exorcist in order to kick Satan's AS!!.

I'm having a hard time finding reasons why this is getting so popular. I've read a chunk of the manga and it really seems like nothing more than your usual shounen with supernatural powers, a hotheaded protagonist and demon killing.
It's not bad or unreadable/watchable but it also has not managed to impress me yet.

In my opinion, everything is perfect. I like the characters especially Rin <3. Very interesting story and not your usual shounen anime.I also like the opening and ending songs. If I will rate this show for now even though it is still ongoing, I'll give it a 10/10 :). And guys, try to read the manga because the flow of the story in the anime is different from the manga. That's all :D

I just finished watching every episode and every OVA .. its a great show definitely in my top 20 .. I do find it funny how many animes these days are being based on a manga while its still in development, and then catching upto the manga so they have to make their own story line... eg DRR, FMA, Soul Eater .. I would like a second season but dont see a need for one as they concluded the story line fairly well.

I've downloaded 15 episodes of this to watch, and so far I am enjoying it, but I hate-hate-hate the English voice of Rin. He is the older brother, hell, the fucking Son of Satan. They could have gotten an English Voice Actor whose voice was a bit more deeper than the one they have now.
I guess it'll just like Deadman Wonderland for me. Where I hated the English Actor's voice for the main character on there, but got used to it.
I do enjoy the show thus far, though. I've been downloading a lot of series onto my Flash Drives recently, whilst I'm house sitting for my brother. His car broke, he needed to go to work, and since he's far off, he and his family went to stay with his wife's mother. My family needed a a car, took months, and they had more money left over to put towards a car. He, on the other hand, pays a lot of pills and child support for his other kids that I"ll be here for months if not longer.
So to make an even longer story short, I need to keep myself busy here. So I'm downloading a shit-ton of anime to watch. He provides the groceries, and pays the bills for here. So I don't have to worry about anything other than if the dogs need to be fed, or take them out before they shit in the house.

It was a really good show. The plot line wasn't all that amazing but the art and characters made up for it a lot. I kind of fine it safe though that people mostly dwell on their love for the looks of the character instead of their personality and the plot story itself.

The manga is awesome but the anime ending kind of spoiled it since it became rushed before the manga. So it prematurely exposed some important plot points. Interesting enough, they are fighting against the eldest demon brother, Lucifer(which Memphis to hates) so I guess trying to avoid awkwardly connecting the two is the main downside of the anime jumping before the manga. Anyway, since the manga moves like a turtle it will take a long time before it can get a season two

I went to Anime expo this year and can confirm (from the original manga writer btw so this is legit) that the second season will be Kyoto Saga and follow the Impure King arc. I'm really excited, and the trailer seemed awesome!
