Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The fictional setting takes place during the early Meiji period in Japan. The story is about a fictional assassin named Himura Kenshin, from the Bakumatsu who becomes a wanderer to protect the people of Japan. Watsuki wrote this series upon his desire of making a shōnen manga different from the other ones that were published in that time, with Kenshin being a former assassin and the story taking a more serious tone as it continued. Although the tragic tone was highly expanded as the manga advanced, Watsuki became determined to give it a happy ending as it was aimed at teenagers.

for great GREAT art...search for either this or Tsubasa Chronicle on gelbooru.they are two of the few on the site that show more art than ecchi pics.honestly the wallpapers are BEAUTIFUL.

Still my all time favorite. I own season 1 and Reflection (ova) my brother owns season 2 and all the other movies...how did that work out? But anyway, seems the best story and I remember watching it on Toonami too which is the main reason I went back to it when I wanted to try anime again. So pleased that I did. And I got my other anime friends to like it too :)

Also that live action movie looks awesome and I heard about the new series. I hope if they do it they follow the manga all the way through instead of veering off for the 3rd season which is what the old series did...

I really can't move on from the fact that he is dead. (T.T) but Himura Kenshin will forever live in my childhood memories.

OMG. I LOVE KENSHIN!!! HE'S FRIGGIN AMAZING.

I love Rurouni Kenshin. I'm glad the the creator of RK offically said that he disapproves of Reflections thus making it not in continuity with the anime or manga.
