They did say they were working on a sequel but they just don't have the support to make it happen. That revelation on Sigma's actual appearance though. No wonder the girls are creeped out whenever Sigma tries to make a move on them

Oh, a 3rd entry in the series would be so awesome, yes. I played both games and I loved them. I have yet to get some endings in 999 (I got the True Ending though). Really great games! Maybe once I find a little more time, I will use it to go for the left 999 endings and maybe replay even those I already got and VLR as well.

999, VLR, and ZTD were all great, I loved the over all story but now I super want a 4th game!
