From the hate-scorched sky, we descend,
With righteous anger in our hearts we arrive,
We draw forth the blade that smites evil,
Thou art the innocent blade ---- Demonbane!

Okay, so I recently downloaded and played this Visual Novel's english version. Before I get into the plot and what not - I'm going to mention this is one of Nito+'s earlier Visual Novels, and that it is heavily inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos and even draws a little from roman mythology.

That said, Demonbane's plot starts you off in a city called Arkham as a broke guy who dropped out of school and works as a third-rate private investigator who bums most of his food off of a church near by that doubles as an orphanage.

You are soon contacted by a representative of the "Hadou Group", a massive financial corporation who essentially owns Arkham through sheer force of money. And when I say representative, I mean the princess of the group stops by and informs you that you're working for her now - For a substantial sum of money that instantly tramples all of your morals.

What is your task? Search for a Grimoire of great power.

Well, Grimoires, being texts of ridiculously arcane knowledge which herald information mankind should never know and can never understand lest their minds be driven to madness by the truths which cannot exist, are understandably difficult to find. Especially the powerful kind.

None the less, you go out slumming to find one - And, of course, you succeed! Sort of. The Grimoire finds you, and through a hail of gunfire - You forge a convenant and become it's Master, lending to you the power of Al Azif, better known as the Necronomicon; a Grimoire who has existed for over a thousand years and whose purpose is to destroy all that is evil by wielding an unholy power of even greater evil.

This Grimoire is also a bossy and possessive loli. What you expected it to be a book? Bah, Grimoires of true power can manifest a body whenever they please.

But that shootout leads to an electric guitar playing scientist to summon a giant robot to smash you. Which in turn leads to Al and you finding a giant Deus Machina - God Machine - hidden underground in a well preserved hanger that obviously belongs to someone else.

Naturally Al steals it - Because fuck you guys, she wants a giant robot. The fight begins in earnest, and alongside Al, you find yourself drawn into recursive xanatos gambits that fate has woven for eons on end until even death may die...

The question is, with forces beyond your understanding attacking you on all sides, when every battle can only be won in the best case by just barely surviving, and your only true advantage is the fact you're an idiot who can't give up...

Just how many ways can you tell Fate, and the Powers That Be whom observe, to go fuck themselves?

Download link for the english ISO.
Cracked .exe

After installation, just drag and drop that .exe where the other one was and replace the old one with it. Should run perfectly fine after that.

This game is especially amazing as you finish more of it's routes, mainly because you start realizing just how damn much has gone into the climax of the story. I accidentally got Al's Good End my first time through - Oh god, I don't think I've had a visual novel end so magnificently. To avoid spoilers, but still give an idea of why I enjoyed it so much - You successfully troll the most powerful troll in all of existence AND unexistence. For all eternity. With impunity. And she starts to love you because of your magnificient jerkassery.

It has a stunningly good OST to it, my favorites being
Lament. After All, we are Divine.
Those Who Will Challenge The Divine.
An Eternity of Providence.
And, of course, the Main Theme.

Has a sequel which has no english patch or translation that I can find despite all my misery and rage fueling my google-fu. If you guys find it, then that's awesome - post it here.
