I think there should be a special section for emergency only in which a member (or anyone really) could send a signal that will send there exact location at that moment. So that near by dollar members could help, with that there should be an option for which specific dollar members could see your location if the member wishes to put that at there option.
The signals can be as simple as a color code for the distress or the description if time is in there advantage.

This is a really cool idea and I'd love to do it but the Dollars are too spread out for something like this to happen. We could have an email list by general region. I've seen people in the specific countries threads talk about meetups or to keep in touch with the local news so I kinda got the idea from there.

I think that's a great idea any skilled programmers should make that a option on here!!!!

So, not saying that this is a completely bad idea, but I don't think we have the infrastructure or density for this to be of practical use to us. Our members aren't exactly all located within driving distance of each other. If we send out an alert the likelihood of someone responding to it would be slim. In the event of an emergency, you are better off calling the police. The only time you shouldn't rely on the police in an emergency, is if you are doing something illegal, and being that we are not a group dedicated to performing illegal activity, that shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, it would be a good idea but I'm with what Boric said, it would be hard to get help from someone that could be miles away and it be better to call the police or something. But this sort of thing could be good to meet up with other members.

How are we going to execute something like this first of all? I think there will be privacy issues like I feel that you should be on like a list so you can give your location out. Other people that don’t want that don’t have to put their name on the list ya know what I mean? But idk if thatll work cause everyone’s anonymous and we have the option to change our name.

If it was really an emergency they would call the police. I don't think giving out locations is a good idea.
