In the anime there's a mailing list I think we should make one for this site that way members can stay updated without having to check the site all of the time.

There is a mailing list, it just has nothing to be used for at the moment. You can find it in the Chatrooms page. Also, there was a thread on Main about it, which could have been found with ctrl f. Please delete this, and refer all future posts to the network thread on Main.
