A recent posts page would be a page on the site that shows all the latest threads been posted on regardless of the category its under.
What's the point of this? I think it would promote more discussion and quicker responses on threads throughout the site. Sometimes you can make a post and it won't be seen for a few days, but if there was a recent post page then there's a good chance it'll be seen in minutes and quickly replied to.
All in all I think it'll help the community thrive and make threads much more active than they currently are.

Thing is, the site's slow enough that you can easily tell what threads have been posted on recently just by refreshing the page on a given board.
The add on of having a page that says what threads have been posted on recently would be great, if the site were populous enough to have people to respond to them in time. More often than not, the time between replies is anywhere from a few minutes to weeks (or even years, for some necroposters).
The slow responses aren't so much from not being able to tell what threads are most recently posted on, but rather because of the lack of people to talk about them (at least from my point of view, that is).
Anyone can already see the newest post of a given board at any time simply by refreshing the page, and even if I kept hitting refresh several times on Random (one of the fastest boards), I doubt I'd get an update until about ten or so minutes, if not more given how late it is in the U.S.
The point of having different boards is so that one can prioritize what one wants to see and reply on content that you're more interested in. For instance, if I'm interested in anime, then I'll keep an eye on Animation. Having a page that tells me what threads on other boards (which, given that in this scenario I'm only looking at Animation I wouldn't be likely to care about) wouldn't really be helpful because again, the site is slow enough for me to keep checking content that I know that I'm personally interested in.
I don't really see much use that could come of this, but that's merely my opinion, nothing more.
