Don't know what time zone the site works off but would it be possible to give you the correct time zone based off of your IP?

...and in the same way have the correct date relevant to your country. By which I mean the default date is year-month-day, where as in England the day goes before the month so it would be day-month-year? Not sure where you would put the year but you get the point.

This is rather pointless since YOU do know your own time zone in the first place, so it serves no purpose to you.
Also a foolish idea, since the point of operating under one specific time means that EVERYONE can see exactly what time things were posted. Just do the math yourself and quit complaining.
