Most of the people I know who identify as "otaku" often usually identify as "metal heads". I don't see a lot of metal heads in these forums, though. I was just wondering how many dollars out there like heavy metal, and what are some of your favorite bands?

I'm a fan of Iron Maiden and Protest the Hero. While I'd probably consider them more punk than metal I like MSI as well.

Definitely a metal head! Metallica is my all-time favorite, though anyone from that genre has my attention, Rob Zombie and Iron Maiden a close second. Grew up with it long before anime, but I can see why metal heads and otaku would often fall together.

Rob Zombie definitely. I also love Volbeat but everyone I talk to that says they like metal has never heard of them. Some of their songs aren't really that heavy but most of them are.

Sludge and doom metal is everything for me (hence the name.). Pallbearer, Mastodon, and Sleep especially.
