So I've decided I want to learn to play guitar. The first drawback? I don't have one. I found that BC Rich Warbeast is well-liked among the metal community (undertaking the hardest genre first? WTF am I thinking?). Found a good one from an official salesdude that I can trust and stuff. Anyhow, once I get all the right stuff, what do you guys suggest about where to learn from? I'm not worried so much about the initial purchase, just that it doesn't go to waste, hence why I wanna learn to use it.

The whole reason I'm doing this in the first place is because 1.) I wanted to start a band (concept name: Meningeal Hernia) but nobody around cares and 2.) it's much more useful to learn to use any latent finger flexibility and strength than to try and learn a program I'll never use in the future.

Back to the point though, I made this thread hoping for others to shed some light on places/things I haven't found yet and also to help others should they also be interested.
