This is a looking to be a great year for music.
This Town Needs Guns and The Cabs released new albums last week and both are superb. On the way later this year: new Jimmy Eat World, Boris, The Dear Hunter, The Mothership, Projected Twin, The Republic of Wolves, possibly even a new Tool disc for the first time in 7 years.
The "could this be the downfall of music?" shit is retarded. So nothing you listen to is coming out yet. Big fuckin' deal. That doesn't equate to music quality catastrophically crumbling, it's just that you're not looking around enough.

Deer hunter' all those bands are pretty much done.as for tool,I never liked them.there just a big corp rock band. playing music for money. I'm saying there hasn't been a good album yet.it's still early though.Hopfully there is some bands around that will make it right.

I don't think you know your Tool, kid. If they were "corporate" and wanted to make as much money as possible, they'd constantly be releasing shit. They don't though, and because of that, every release they've put out is top-notch. They also don't allow their songs on iTunes because you don't get the album artwork that comes with it and was worked on specifically for each of their albums (I believe post-Undertow) and is just as much a part of the experience as the music is. That's called "artist ambition," not "a big corp rock band."
How is The Dear Hunter done? They're coming off the heels of arguably their strongest and most ambitious work yet and have not just a new album but also a full live DVD of The Color Spectrum: The Complete Collection coming out.

And I'm telling you there has been. If it's not your cup of tea so be it, but there have been good releases this year already. Not to mention 1 month in out of 12 is a tad early to be slandering all music like you think you know something about things that haven't even been released yet.
