Barrow is a rock band out of Greensboro, North Carolina consisting of Travis Schuster, Matt Clark, Zach Tobin, and Tyler Ingram. Their debut album Being Without was released in December of 2011, and since then the group has worked up considerable success and toured in the southeast USA. Their music is a borderline perfect blend of post-metal, post-hardcore, and post-rock, often but not always with screamed vocals and wordy, original, and stick-in-your-head-wow-that's-a-good-line lyrics. The group knows when to calm and build suspense, but in post-hardcore and punk fashion they're great when they're full-throttle loud and noisy too. Songs like "The Undertow" and "An Absent Crown, My Diadem" are prime examples of their attributes. Their second album is on the way later this year. Check out Barrow if you're a fan of post-hardcore, post-metal and/or post-rock. You won't be disappointed!

This saddens me but I'm not surprised.

Their new album Though I'm Alone came out and I finally got around to listening to it tonight.

It blew me the fuck away.

I'll spare you the little details, but if anyone here is a fan of screamo or post-hardcore, you'd be a fool not to check this group out. If you're not a fan of the above genres based on sound, this won't be for you, but if you're mainly turned of to this type of music based on the lyrics, I can guarantee you that you've listened to the shittiest of the shit, and that Barrow is some of the best in the screamo lyric department.

As long as you mind not having to look things up in a dictionary every few seconds. lol
