70th Anniversary of D-Day (3)

On the date June 6 1944 over 170,000 allied soldiers from Britain Canada and the US landed on the beaches of Normandy. Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day (At least in my timezone). At the end of the Normandy invasion over 4,000 soldiers died.

My great uncle Chris from Italia fought in WWII. He was a supply officer for the US Army and made sure that soldiers on the front lines got their supplies while being shot at by Nazis.

Do you have a relative(s) that was involved in WWII Allies or Axis? Are you doing anything as a Dollar for veterans? What do you think would of happened if the Allies weren't successful of the invasion of Normandy?

Please keep jokes at a minimum and be serious. Thank you.

You mean doughnut day right, right?
Also, why would this be better placed here and not somewhere else? While it is an important topic, it is something that only lasts a day and for some people due to age holds no relevance.

Also, we can play what if games 24/7, but that doesnt make it a discussion.
